Grandbaby #9 has arrived!

My husband and I have six children between us and today we welcomed our 9th. grandchild into the world...a beautiful, chubby baby girl names Alayna, with her mommy's lips and red hair like my stepson. Both mommy and baby are doing fine and anxious to come home from the hospital. Alayna has a big brother and many cousins. Her cousin, Sierra, who is swtjenlove's baby girl, is only six months older so I know those two will become fast friends in a few months.

Congratulations! That's wonderful news. I bet she's just beautiful. I can imagine the fun times y'all will have with all the grandkids.

Thanks sunnflr! My husband isn't looking forward to baby dolls and toy strollers being underfoot but I can't wait. I love my grandsons but it's been too long since we've had little girls in our house.

Yeah and they have such cute clothes for girls. There are good boys clothes too, but it's just different with little girls. I used to wish we'd had one of both. But I'm not sure I could have handled the teenage years with a girl. All the tight, short, and not big enough clothes they want to wear would drive me crazy!
But little girls are cool.

I've raised three girls so let me tell you, you've lucked out having only boys. Not only in the clothes war but teenage girls are walking hormones with mood swings that can test the patience of a saint! Fortunately, they grow out of it.

Thanks camomom for the best wishes. Some folks here knew that I had a grandbaby coming this is more of an announcement than a milestone...at least that's how I feel about it. If this discussion vanishes I guess we'll both know that I was wrong! LOL!

Thanks Barb. They came home yesterday so I had the opportunity to have some quality time with her while she was awake. She sooo fat...and doesn't seem too impressed with what she's seeing so far.

Congratulations. I find having grandchildren is the greatest thing. You can hand them back to their parents when you want to and have them when they are at their best. Although I have done my fair share of nappy changing. I think nappies are called diapers in the US.
