What kind of a walker are you ?
Happy Bouncy walker.
Graceful walker.
Confident walker with a strut, chin up, imposing andhardly with a side step.
Arrogant walker with a don't mess with me attitude.
Shake and look at me walker.
Hand walker, with both your hands moving like you are marching.
Reluctant walker, Always a few steps behind the other person/s
Race walker,In a hurry to get you where you want.
There are many more styles which reflect one's personality, self esteem and mood.
And would you also consider your self to be
A fitness walker:-Burning off those calories
Spirited walker:- For relaxation and looking for connection with nature.
BTW : your footwear ? Barefooted, casuals, expensive footwear..Which would you prefer to walk with ?

You have given me a complex number of walking types to choose from here alok! I think my wife would agree totally that I am definitely a "Race Walker" because she is always struggling to keep up with me and says I walk too fast! I think the funniest type of walker though is the fitness or "Power" walker. Whe I see groups of people powering aways down the street with their arms pumping and that determined look on their face I can't help but laugh! Good for them of course for making the effort to stay fit but you gotta admit it can look ridiculous while they are doing it! lol. As for my footwear, I have a pair of very comfortable sneakers I have had for a few years now and they are always my foot attire of choice. But if i had it my way, I would rarely wear shoes at all. I would love to be a spirited or spiritual walker by the way rather than always seem to be in a hurry.

I seem to Race Walk everywhere alok! It's the only exercise I think I get so I may as well make the most of it. I wear no shoes at home and if I was back in Australia I would be much more comfortable wearing no shoes many other places as well, but here it is not overly wise to not wear shoes outside.

James, I think it may be cultural too. When I was in the Philippines, I use to walk at a slower pace. Almost everyone did, or at least in my city. When I got to the US, I found out people tend to walk faster here. I somehow got into that and when I went back to the Philippines, my friends were complaining that I walk too fast. I don't know. Here, I always trail Boyfriend. He has longer legs and walks fast while I struggle with my short ones. Heheh.

I think I am a humble mix of all of those and my walking essentially depends on the frame of mind I am into. Let me sum up,
When I am in a hurry, I walk hasty
When I am happy, I am bouncy
While exercising, I am expeditious
While with friends, I walk casual, less girly
When in a party, I am the most graceful
But generally, you would always find myself walking with my head lowered with long steps. I love walking in sneakers which make me walk fast and comfortable. I am most uncomfortable in heels which I do not wear unless in a party. But one thing you would never find me into is walking with hands moving faster than my body and another thing you would find me in is with my head bit down in Dianaish style. No wonder I am very shy.

The "Dianaish style"! That sure is an interesting way to put it.In a way shy yet confident. .
It's the casual style when with friends or family which portrays the way we usually are.
And Mimpi ,you must be doing the Spirtual walk once in a while. Not in the real sense of being spiritualistic, but more enjoying the beautiful elements of nature.
Thanks for the great response.

I've been all those kinds of walker you mentioned, depending on my mood. I've never really noticed it though until I got to thinking about how I walk after reading your discussion. Sometimes, I'm that distracted walker that doesn't look where she's going.
As for your second question, again, I'm both. I do tend to walk faster but then I also tend to dilly-dally when I'm in no hurry.
I like to wear flats when I go out. When I know that I'm definitely going hiking or walking on trails, then I wear the appropriate footwear. I enjoy being barefoot once in a while. I like to feel the ground, the grass, the sand, etc...

I do bump into people, alokn. There's been a few times when I started talking or grabbing the hand/arm of a stranger mistaking them for my companion.

Hi! The type of walk I have actually depends on my mood. Generally, I would categorize myself as a confident walker. I think this is because I know where I'm going and I am not reluctant to get there. I kind of walk slow, though, because I am short so my steps are not in long strides. I am kind of a reluctant walker whenever I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, which is very rare. I always walk in comfortable footwear because I am prone to callouses and ankle sprain. Happy myLotting!

I am a head down want to get where i'm going kind of walker! I don't like people looking at me, it makes me nervous i think it has to do with confidence so if i have my head down i don't have to look at people i don't know which means they don't look at me! I usually have my arms folded or one in my pocket and the other holding my bag strap against my shoulder!! I don't think i have a very good walk now i have thought about it!! lol xxx

Hi. I was more like the race walker back when I was studying. After school hours, I would usually take really fast strides when I walk so that I could get home early and get to watch my favorite TV shows hahaha. Well now, I would have to go with being the spirited walker. I just take my time time walking and enjoying the views here and there, glancing at other walkers and humming my favorite songs. For my footwear, I never really cared much when I was younger then. Any footwear was good enough for walking, be it slippers, sandals, sneakers or leather shoes. And I also love walking barefoot. Now, I would wear casual sandals when doing some walks. Occasionally, I would walk home wearing leather shoes. They are more durable to wear and tear from walking than my sneakers. :)

Well depends on time, place and occassion. When im walking to the party, im walking gracefully with high heels. When i am shopping im walking so slowly coz my eyes are starring those beautiful bags dangling in the store. But when im rushing looks like there's ten cows chasing me lolz.
happy posting.

It depends on my mood sometimes I am a reluctant walker especially when I used to go to schools or my college. Now I would reate myself as a confident walker. I usually wear casual sandals :)
