I would love to homeschool my littlest one and I have been already , but when it comes time to send him to school I am thinking of doing homeschooling. How did you make your decision and what factors were thought of?? Was it religious?? Political?? Whatever??

I don't homeschool, mostly because I don't think I have the patience for it. I have three kids (7, 5, and 2). My youngest would definitely be a distraction. However, I know people who homeschool. It's mostly because our public schools are not that great. We, too, still have to do a lot with our kids at home but it's better than full-time homeschooling. Private schools here unfortunately are not any better. In order to avoid the public school, those who can homeschool. Or chose private school because they think it's a safer environment. Not true as one mom I know found out the hard way (and that at the catholic school in town). Anyhow, she pulled her kids from school and is homeschooling them. Now, depending on how things develop, when my oldest hits middle school I may reconsider our position. Thus far she is doing fine but she is already one grade ahead with her knowledge level, two with reading. The district just cut the gifted and talented program due to lacking funds. Her teacher is trying to give her more challenging work so she won't get bored, but if that doesn't work out, we will have to find an alternative for her and eventually her siblings.
