I heard a report on the news a while ago that said not getting a good nights sleep is linked to weight gain!! So I guess that explains my weight gain!! I am lucky if I get a solid 2-3 hours of sleep a night. The rest of the time I toss and turn or usually I just get up and read or watch tv.

I think you lack information. Weight gain is associated with no sleep because some people usually turn to food when they lack sleep. It's how they cope with stress. That's why they gain weight. Others have the opposite effect. the more lack of sleep means not eating well enough so they lose weight. It really depends on the person.

Oh ok, I wonder why I keep gaining weight than?? I exercise, eat right, no soda, chips, or junk, I walk everyday(I have no car) , when I can't sleep I usually turn to the computer. I have gained like 20 pounds in one month. Luckily my husbands insurance is in effect and we are just waiting on the card so I can go to the doctor and find out why the sudden weight gain.

Sleep is very important and not having enough sleep during the night cam mean being tired and listless during the day. I am lucky in that I get a good night's sleep every night. There are times when I wake up for no reason during the night and often can't sleep for an hour or so but it is a rare occurrence. Cheers!

You are absolutely right!!!Not getting a proper night sleep leads to weight gain. Its also affects the normal function of heart and metabolic system of the human body. Its better to sleep at night, and it should be for almost 5 hours.
