I am a mom of two, my youngest is only three months old. I am by no means fat but I have the "mommy belly" and I'd like to atleast firm it up a little. Is it possible to get rid of it? How? I know exercise will probably help but what exercises will really work? Eating differently may also help but I don't know how to cook healthy or eat healthy. I stopped using regular sugar already because my fiance is diabetic so we use Splenda. We try to eat more vegetables but I'm not a fruit person. I like carbs, like potatoes and pastas and breads. So, what do I do? Any and all suggestions welcome.

I've had the "mommy belly" since I had my first son 11 years ago. I've tried everything to get rid of it. Although I'm overweight now, I wasn't after having my first child, but the belly was still there. I was very active and a very decent weight, but nothing I did got rid of that tummy. I've tried creams, lotions, oils, excersizes, diets... absolutely nothing works!! The only thing that will get rid of the belly is surgery. I've learned to just live with mine.

Thats what I thought but I also thought maybe there was something that I didn't know. I know people with more kids then I have and that had them at an older age then me and they lost theirs somehow.

It's mostly up to genetics. Some women can have a million kids and never get a single stretch mark, while others have 1 child and their belly hangs down to their knees and looks like a crumpled up road map. I was 17 when I had my first child... so age has nothing to do with it.

With my first, I had no stretch marks, no belly, nothing. With my second, I got stretch marks and the yucky veins, the belly and saggy boobs. My mom is a skinny minnie, she had 2 kids. My sister is a skinny minnie, she had one. I don't get it, I guess I'm being punished for always being under weight. I was 92 lbs when I got pregnant the first time. I'm 136.5 lbs now. I'm not fat but I have the "belly".
