Fresh baked bread or rolls with soup or stew

I was talking with the owner of the gas station about her daily specials. She wanted to know if I could make her some rolls or bread on the days that she serves soup or stew. I think it is a great idea for her and would make me a little extra money too. Do you prefer fresh baked bread or rolls with your soups and stews or do you prefer a sandwich instead? Do you have a preference over rolls or fresh bread? Does the type of soup make a difference?

My dad would agree with you completely. I think it is because that is what his mom made when he was a kid. Every Tuesday and Friday they would have cornbread and beans. That was all they could afford, but even grown my dad still loves that.

it's hard to beat, is your dad from the south? i'm from tennessee. my ex mother-in-law god love her cooked white beans "every day".

That is really cool that you have such a good camraderie (I'm too lazy to check and see if the spelling right on that word) where she goes to you with that kind of offer. It has to be nice knowing she thinks that much of your ability to cook that she would use you for her customers. I like rolls so much, especially when they are right from the oven. I think rolls are my favorite type of bread. I don't usually get them though when I have soup. I would prefer a roll over a sandwich any day.

Close you were only one letter short - camaraderie. Me too, I prefer rolls or bread over a sandwich with soup. She even offered to pay me to go in there in the mornings and do her specials for her. I was giving her ideas for specials and she liked all of them. I was given free reign over her gas station. She told me yesterday that any ideas I have for her that would make both of us money she is willing to do. Check out my other discussion on fresh baked muffins.

I eat fresh sour dough rolls with soup. Usually from the Bread company. The 2 soups I enjoy most come from there. I like french onion and the broccoli cheese. I like the bread more than the rolls. But either is nice.

I like the stuff you get at Bread Company with the soup. I also have a recipe for my Aunt Annie's rolls that are awesome. I think they would be good with a stew.

That sounds like a very nice idea. (Baking fresh bread for soup-day.) I like a bread-bowl (sourdough) with french onion soup. However, I have also seen people take a garlic toasted slice of bread and float it at the top of the soup before covering it with cheese and melting it under the broiler. (Helps to have stoneware bowls and not mind chiseling cheese off the bowl afterwards.)

Bread, rolls or bread sticks all make wonderful accompaniments to soups and stews. I would eat any of them with soup or stew.

It prefer fresh baked yeast rolls. I can eat yeast roll with just Pure cane syrup. The soup doesn't matter.
