Have you ever had a pet die while it was being groomed? Or have you ever lost a pet while it was in someone elses care? This precious poodle was old but died standing up being groomed. Could it have been too much stress for that Doggies heart? Has anyone ever heard of this before?

What a sad thing to have happen. I feel bad for your aunt and the groomer as well. I have actually heard of this happening before. It is very sad.

Wow, that would be crazy to get someones pet into your care and then have it die on you. Perhaps it was too much for an old dog to handle, clippers and hair grooming tools are stressful to animals, I can imagine why. The dog was probably already getting ready to leave the world if something so minor could kill it, so I hope she was not angry with the groomers, and I hope the groomers were not too upset by this- they probably felt guilty about it, though they were just doing their job, what your aunt paid them to do. It's probably not the first time this has happened in grooming history.

I have never experience such a sad thing. I have been lucky and never had a pet die in someone else's care either. I tend to take my pets with me where ever I go. Or I don't go. As I am particular about who would watch my pets or kids for that matter. If the doggie was old, than it was probably time for the doggie to go. I know that is not what people want to hear. But unless an autopsy is done to prove otherwise. I do hope the owner didnt have to pay for the grooming.

This dog was very old and it was time for this dog to go. The gromer had always been wonderful and I am sure was also devasted. The groomer had known this dog for a very long time. It will just be very hard on her because she will be alone now and I am hoping she will get another dog one day, she is a very responsible pet owner.

How terrible!! I've never heard of it happening before but then old dogs can get worked up when their around alot of other dogs or unfamiliar area's. They seem to like peace and quiet alot at that stage. It also might have been something do with being left alone there if the owner did leave the dog...a case of mistaken abandonment maybe. I really think that you are right. The dog was so old and it was just enough stress, to cause like a doggie heart attack! I am really sorry for her, they had been together for so many years! Appreciate the response.

It has been awhile and she still is not ready for another dog. I hope one day she will bee. I hope she can move forward. She was an excellent pet owner and she has the love to give. I am hoping she will adopt an animal who really could use a home...
