I just responded to a discussion about Tuna Salad and it got me thinking about Chicken Salad. I am not adventurous with my Tuna Salad, but I like to do different things with my chicken salad. I sometimes make it what I would consider the normal way, but sometimes I use fresh fruit and nuts. What do you put in yours?

I always put celery, pickles and mayo (not really, I use Miracle Whip). When I feel adventurous, I like to add: green grapes cut in half, bell peppers and onions, but I got out of the habit of putting onion in when it was just my youngest daughter and I at home because she wouldn't eat onion. I like to chop up apple to put in chicken salad or tuna salad.

I have done green and red grapes before. I have also done apples and raisins. Someone above mentioned pineapple. That might be good, but I think it would have to be fresh pineapple.

I am the only one who eats chicken salad, my husband does not eat it. I make mine rather simple. I use onions, celery and relish and mayo. I like to eat it on whole wheat bread, and if I have a nice red Jersey tomato, that will go on the sandwich as well. Makes me hungry for one right now

When it comes to salads, I love to get creative. What I toss in depends on my mood and what ingredients are available. At various points, I've used curry power, turmeric, red pepper, black pepper, Italian seasoning, onion, carrots, celery, spinach, tomatoes, peppers and more. If it can be tossed in, I'll try it.

I usually have it the regular way but sometimes I add apples and celery. Well only added celery one time but it wasn't very good. But I like it with apples it gives it a little sweeter taste.

I have had chicken salad a bunch of ways. One way I've had it is with celery and walnuts. Since I am not a fan of nuts, this wasn't my preference. But my supervisor from a past job put grapes in hers. It was really delicious.
