It's Cricket all the way for me.Represented school ,college and even had our own team. An avid follower now of the shorter version of the game. Then its, hockey, football,Badminton and table tennis in that order. Don't follow it much but used to love to play the games. Ok "Sudoku Queen". I'd love the challenge. Willing to take you on any day. The other indoor games Chess. You need a whole lot of patience for that. BTW love to have chess board like that. Rubix cube;-love to do it. Not as fast as i used to be. and then of course its scrabble with friends and family . No competition here, just like to have fun.

You are absolutely right Mimpi, it is sad to see the neglect given to other sports in this country. Although there seem to be some increase in the sponsorship, training facilites...,it still seems a long way to go.There is so much talent in this country and it needs to be tapped for us to bring about a radical change in arena of sports and games. You have an excellent vocabulary and i'm sure you will be good at Scrabble. But i just may surprise you.

I used to play many different sports when I was a teenager but these days I am nowhere near as active. I plan to get back into something when I eventually return home though. Lately I have been going ten pin bowling quite often and this has been a lot of fun! But if I had it my way I would be playing cricket or swimming. I do enjoy tennis too but I am not overly good at it. I prefer squash actually and also enjoy badminton once in a while. It has been ages since I have played any of these though unfortunately. I will stick to ten pin bowling for now I think.

Rebounder - It is my mini-trampoline, good for exercising indoors when the wheather is too hot to go out.
It used to be soccer, but now aside from swimming, probably what I do most besides exercising my brain is rebounding on our mini-trampoline, pictured below. Hubby does it too:-)

I enjoy scrabble the most. And my second choice is sudoku. Of the outdoor games I enjoy badminton. But I dont like watching any sports on television. Would prefer watching live.

Yeah, watching live games has different impact and it feels out of world. I wish to witness the finals of Wimbledon someday.. And coming to Sudoku, I think I am just addicted to it, I play it all the time, even online.

Cricket is my favourite sport, if you talk about outdoor activity. It is another matter that I do not get time to play it now, I just enjoy reading about it and watching the matches on TV or net. In indoor games, when I am at leisure, I love playing chess and can be very good at times. I remember once in office, I was up against the Champion of our office, who defeated me in the consecutive three games. I did not lose my heart, I played the fourth game and he was at the receiving end. I defeated him to his astonishment and he was not willing to believe that he actually lost the game to a youngester like me. That win will always be etched in my memory because I could get the better of a Champion player. BTW, I am not good at sudoku. Nice to know that you are the Champion. Nonetheless, you are a real champion in many other fields too.

Well, i am totally a sports freak . I love playing cricket and tennis. These are 2 sports i am good at. Though i also now how to play table tennis and badmintona and volleyball and basket ball. I have won many awards during my school days. Infact i used to be in the college cricket team and have even represented the college in different inter-college tournaments. There is one funny incident related to these tournaments. We went to a different city for participating in the tournament in cricket. though our cricket team lost the first game itself, we stood runners-up in the baseball tournament. But those were the lovely days. I can still play now but dont find that much enthusiasm. Talking about indoor sports, I like playing chess and carrom. Well, snooker and pool are also somewhat indoor games that i play. I love watching Sports as well, cricket being the most common of all. I love watching Sachin playing especially. The other sports that i like watching on TV is Tennis.

Sungka wooden board game with cowrie shells - It is a game of skill in calculation played on a block of wood or game-board called sungkahan. The game-board is shaped like a boat with the surface artfully rounded at the ends. The surface of sungkahan is hollowed at regular intervals with sixteen circular holes, with one large hole at the end of each side, called mother or ulo (head). The fourteen small holes are called bahays (houses) with a capacity of a handful of tokens. They are hollowed out alongside at equal distances, seven holes at each row. Shells, pebbles, or seeds are used as tokens. The game revolves around the contest between two people each aiming to outdo the other by trying to accumulate as many tokens as he can into the mother hole according to certain rules of distributions and moves. (http://www.tagalog-dictionary.com/source.php?a=sungka)
Wow! You have nice physical sports. My recreational sport would be Badminton. Its just too fun to be called exercise, especially when no one would seem to hit the shuttlecock, then we'd just burst out laughing. Though, when we're serious in our game, we'd make up fun rules like, no court boundaries, just get the shuttlecock back to the opponent. Kinda like back and forth hits while trying to make it go past the net. Doesnt matter when you're out of bounds just hit it back.^_^ The other set of rules would be hitting it back to the opponent but it should be upwards and see who could hit it the highest while making it land on the other side of the net so the opponent could hit it back. Basketball is more like a fear faced head on. I run away from basketballs, but when Im playing I just try to not make a fool out of myself.LOL! Still have a lot of fun though. Indoor sports, hmm, Im more into board games and word games. Though we have 'sungka' which is considered as an indoor sport. Shells are placed on carves on a wooden board, and whoever has the highest amount of shells on his 'base' wins.

Hi Bj As a child I remember playing Badminton following our own set of rules. That was fun days. specially during winter months, we used play it at night with lights on the court. The elders used to compete with each other in serious sport. Those were the days! SUNGKA is totally new . It sounds interesting, looks traditional as well. Could you share little more about it?

Yeah, it is a traditional sport.^_^ The object of the game is to collect as many shells/tokens in your base. There are 7 hollows on the board on each side(so that would be a total of 14) and there are 2 big hollows on both ends. Your "base/home" would be the big hollow on your right. To start all 14 small hollows should have 7 shells/tokens each. Then when everything is set, both players will start at the same time, picking all the 7 shells on whichever hollow they like and distributing 1 shell on each hollow that they pass by, including their home base. I hope that explanation on how the game works is clear, somehow.LOL!^_^

From fifth grade to high school, I was a part of my school's volleyball team. I was part of the "first six" of the team as they like to call those who get to start the game and get to play a lot of minutes. I always have fond memories of this sport even if our team lost a lot! I think we should start a Sudoku competition for myLotters who enjoy it as I've read several users challenging you to it. I am one of them too. There is a board game for Sudoku. I have one and Boyfriend and I played it a few times but we're more into doing the individual puzzles. And see who figures it out the fastest. I loooOoove Scrabble and any other word games you have out there (like Boggle and Bookworm). As a young child, I used to play it against my dad and other older relatives. I usually was picked to represent our class whenever there's a Scrabble competition within the school. Is trash talking (and taunting) during a game considered a sport? Because I am good at that!

Oh yes, it is. . At least that makes it more fun! More the yapping, more the taunting, more the lures more fun it is. It's good to know that you were good at volleyball. I could never play it for my height. Scrabble was my favorite and now it's sudoku all the way.

My sport is cycling! I am a regular cyclist but I don't participate in any cycling clubs or anything. I do like watching the Tour De France though, I watch it every year without fail. This is my one and only sport I guess. I'm not that keen on football and I did try a bit of the old sudoku but those numbers started making me feel dizzy! I watch the occasional golf on tv too, that's quite a peaceful sport I think! Andrew
