I am trying to quit smoking and any suggestions would be so helpful. I have smoked for around ten years and I quit three years ago when I had my daughter. When my daughter passed away for some unknown reason possibly stressed I started smoking again. So if anyone has any suggestions on helping me quit i would love to hear them. thank you so much.

long time smokers need to know more about the effects of quitting and the proper way of doing it as to avoid the withdrawal syndrome. it would be wise and better if you could find a support system in your community or local church or anyone in your area. what they have done in my previous work, they always attend a smoking cessation class for some hours and they are being assessed on their needs and according to their health status and the number of years of smoking. nicotine patch or gum is always the substitute that they are using. not so sure of the details about it though.

i have answered some of the discussions abt smoking..so waana tell u tht to stop smoking u should be ready completely no half mind or so....after u r ready try engaging urself in other activities when ever u feel like smoking....smoking is really a killing habbit and i should be stopped otherwise u could be in danger.....nev try to be alone as loneliness promotes smoking...have a good company and enjoy ur life without smoking....Now a days there are electronic ciggrates of have heard of buy them they are harmless i think.....control urself n see tht u will be free from smoking....gud luck!!!

Yes I have a simple suggestion. Be determined. Lack of determination is the main problem. If honestly you want to quit you can do it. Stick to your decision. I am sorry about your daughter but it is a lame excuse to start your bad habit again. If you want to show the love to your daughter quit it today. All the best.

Apologize to you if my words hurt you. I can understand your pain as a mother and I never intend to hurt you on that. I hate smokers and drunkards. I have seen many of them to find out a way to start the habit again. So I respond it like that. Do you think your smoking habit will return your daughter or will it reduce your pain. Your lost is a lost in your whole life. Nobody can compensate it. We can only share your pain. Your question was on smoking. I am victim of passive smoking. Even when I was pregnant people don't care about it. So I felt that smokers are really selfish, I think you can understand my feeling now. Again am apologizing for hurting you. This is the first time I am getting such a reply. Really an embarrassment for me. Good wishes to you.

Exactly! My question was on smoking. I only mentioned my daughter because when I found out I was pregnant I quit smoking which was over three years ago. The quitting part was to signify that I have quit in the past, meaning I am sure I can do it again. Until you have gone through what I did concerning my daughters passing do not assume you would not do anything to keep your mind from the loss of a child. Smoking won't bring her back, but I do hope if you are ever placed in my position and ask someone for helpful suggestions that people will not respond to you in the idiotic way you just did me.
