Do you know the meaning of your kids name? when you name your kids, do you think much effort on thinking what kind of name you will give to them or you just name them base on the circumstances on the day you gave birth? Well a friend of mine gave birth on January i, and so the kid's name was Juan (or one), isn't that funny? AS for me, I name my kids and me and hubby take effort and time thinking about what to name them. For my first born we chose the name Mikhail Mahat, we want a Russian and to me Indian name ise very appealing, my hubby like the name Mikhail and I search and search on the net for a beautiful Indian name, I came upon Mahat and we liked the meaning of it. Mikhail is a Russian name for Micheal which means God liked. Then unexpectedly I got pregnant again, it was hard thinking of another name. And since our first born was named with a Russian Indian combination, we thought to name our second son the same combination. The name Marco was very appealing to me, and I search about it it was indeed a Russian name, then I look for an Indian name that will sound good with Marco,I came upon Mahadev and Marco mahadev sounded good. Now when I was pregnant with our third baby, I really had a hard time finding one. You see my friends, I know there are a lot of beautiful Russian and Indian name, but I am not from these countires, I am from the Philippines,so I still want their names to be Filipino sounding as much as possible. I was thinking of naming him Maksimo, but here in my country there was an Indipendent film about a teen age gay and his name is Maximo, not that I am against gay but our country are still far behind accepting gay community, and I don't want my baby to be bash on as gay because of his name. And so I found this very interesting name. Melor ( I will leave it to you guys to find the meaning) it is a Russian modern name. And so for his Indian second name, I found Moulik, it is pronounced as Malik, and I really like the Malik name. And eversicen I had my first pregnancy, we already had planned for a name for a baby girl. If we are gonna have one (and we hopefully we do, maybe 5 years from now) we will name her Sofia Ananta. so how about you? do you know the meaning of your kid's name? or if you are planning to have kids, do you take effort on looking for meaningful names?

I named my oldest daughter Amity, it is the French word for friendship. She's in her 30's now, and she was the only person named that in the area. I have to laugh, now there's a few little kids named that too. I like meaningful names, or naming after a family member from a past generation which have special meaning in our family. Those are all really nice names you picked for your children :-)

Yes, I would have to say that she lives up to her name. She is very friendly and a very happy person, kind to all. She's a Dr with a very busy practice and her clients all tell me they think she's wonderful.

My two boys have celtic names. My oldest one is named Myrddin. It's the Celtic version of the name Merlin (like from the King Arthur stories). It means "Wise Man". My youngest is named Pheolan. It means "little wolf". I loved the name Felan, which means wolf, but because there are already children with that name, I looked further to have a really original name, so it became Pheolan. If I would ever have a girl, I already have the name for her too. I won't tell it, because it really is original too. Have a nice day

I do hope so too, but we can't choose it. Because I so much want a girl I didn't want to know the sexe of my children before they were born. I thought that I would be disappointed if I would know upfront. When I found out they were boys, I was so glad they were born, it didn't matter that it weren't girls Have a nice day

Yes, I checked the meaning before I named my kids. I have two daughters and according to their horescopes they both got the letter 'SHA' and the names had to begin with that. So I named them Sharanya and Shamistha. Both an Indian names. The meanings are same that means Luck. I love Indian names and always wanted my kids to have Indian names.

cool names you got there. my children's names are Justice (first born, male, 17) Jury (second born, daugther 16), Judge (daugther, 14), Judiciary (daugther, 12). i dont need to explain what are the meaning of their names for they can even find what their names meant in the dictionary. my dad is a confidential secretary of Senator Tanada back then and i always hear him say the word Justice. so when i got pregant i have in mind the word Justice to be used on my first born's name. whether my child would be girl or boy then name would be justice. so when i got pregnant again i thought of a nice name that would compliment the name of my first born.... and thats the story.

svetlana means bright light. but i didn't know that when i gave her that name . i just researched because so many people are asking what it means. and in order to avoid having to say, "i picked that name because i like it" (which is the real reason why i picked that name in the first place) . anyways, i envy your effort at naming your children beautifully. i wish i was less lazier.

I had already 5 kids, and their names has no definite meaning because all of their names base on the combinations of me and my husband's name and their granfa and grandma's name.though accidentally there has meaning Like my eldest daughter Francheska Alizah, her first name comes from the latin and the 2nd name is meaning of a noble and kind, while my only son Francis Aaron, his 1st part of his name also from a latin word and Aaron which means mountain. And our 3rd is my triplets daughter which their names begin at ma. frances which also means latin word, their 3rd name which are Alirah, Althea which has no meaning and Aliyah which only has meaning "to ascend". All of my kids starting with the intials of F.A. Because it was the combination on their grandparents Francisco and Francisca from the side of my husband and A from my husband's name Alvin and Liza from mine. So that's how my kids got their names. Sounds good isn't?
