What dish did your mom or dad make that you remember as a comfort food?

My mom used to make pasta and lentils for me when I was sick. This was one of my favorite things to eat because as good as it tasted on the first day, it would taste even better on the second day. There are still times when I visit her that I beg her to make some for me. I've made it myself a few times, but I swear it isn't as good as her's. She tells me that I will get better making it as I make it more often over time. Oh well, I certainly hope she is right about that because I can't imagine not having it someday.

My Mom made the worst meatloaf in the world. Til I moved away. I worked ona resort Island for two years. When I came home, she asked what I wanted to eat, I said "your meatloaf!"

My mom makes the best Cream Chicken and Biscuits. It's my personal favorite and always makes me think of home. It was very touching after the birth of my first daughter. I was ravenously hungry and I can vividly remember being in the recovery room, being asked if I was hungry, and being very surprised when they brought me a huge plate of Cream Chicken and Biscuits. Although I've never asked and she would probably never admit to it, I think my mom personally requested it for me. Another "home" food is Pineapple Upside Down Cake. I get one every year for my birthday. YUMMY!!
