The tv show House! Who watches and why?

House. Why is he so intriguing? Well, honestly, Dr. Gregory House is an amalgam of qualities most of us see in ourselves. Be they qualities we'd like to see or qualities we're ashamed we see, it really doesn't matter. Each week, Hugh Laurie brings us an all too explicit, all too candid dose of reality; and whether we like it or not, that five o'clock shadowed M.D. forces us to confront the way we think. It's not that he's always right, though he'd like us to believe that and would be loathe to admit otherwise. It's not that his methods are always the best, the most caring, or even the most human. But House is bold. He isn't afraid of confrontation. He isn't afraid to speak the truth, even if the truth brings great pain. Conversely, House douses his own internal conflicts with pints of malt liquour and skads of prescription medications. In short, House really good at one thing - finding out what's wrong with people. In fact, the only patient he can't cure is himself. Isn't that how most of us our when it comes to our own problems? Watching house interact with his superiors, his employees, his friends, speaks volumes about how he sees the world. The chief tenet he subscribes to is "everybody lies". Forcing House to rub up against principled people, or even just people with skewed or illogical thinking, is like forcing us to rub against the daily conflicts that prevent us from being everything we want to be in life. None of us are free of our own personal canes. The question is, will we be so focused on the few things we're good at, that we refuse to accept help from those who care about us?House. Yes, we may all want to talk to people the way he does for one day and get away with it - our boss, spouse, best friend, whatever. But more importantly, when we see him limping, I think most fans who are honest with themselves, see a reflection of the limps in our own lives. And for an our each tuesday night, we wonder, am I addicted to my own personal vicaden? Or do I really stand a chance of walking without this cane some day? Remember, helping people is important. Just don't forget to help yourself and accept help from others.

I love that show. Why you wanna know? Because House is the best at what he does. Oh you bet he is rude and crude but boy does he think outside the box. Should I ever be in a situation that needed medical care...I hope I could find a true Dr like House.

We don't watch many network TV shows, but of the few we do watch "House" is one of my absolute favorites. He comes across as a real person and looks beyond the obvious. True, he can be a bit rude and crude but still and all, that is real life. People are not always syrupy sweet. When my husband was in the emergency room a few weeks ago I kept thinking "gosh, I wish House was here."

I have never been a big fan of the show House but I have seen a couple episodes of it and it does seem like it is a pretty good show,but I do not think it is anything worth watching every week,even though I have known people who have been addicted to the show,and refused to miss an episode of it,and if you talked while they were watching it they would through something at you,I do like how funny House is because he seems to always have smart butt things to say.

im actually watching an episode of House right now, so I thought it a good idea to respond to your discussion LOL Dr. House is such a rude and blunt man but he really knows his stuff, I would gratefully take a doctor like House if I seriously needed it. Great show!!!

Well I watch house on a regular basis. I just love that show. I really like it just for house, he is such a crude and forthright person. I think that at some point in our lives that we would all love to say what is on our mind but don't because we want to be nice. He just tells it like it is.
