just a thought. the last time I had kiwis ... I couldn't breathe, my throat felt swollen and scratchy. I have a birch allergy but it doesn't include kiwi... I told my doctor I maybe allergic to kiwis and he laughed.... does anyone have the same allergy or similar odd food allergies?

I don't have it that bad, but kiwis make my whole mouth itch. But melons give me hives in my mouth.

Thats horrible! :( Melons are fantastic. Does it help if you take benadryl or something?

Food allergies are common in my family. I'm allergic to eggs, my daughter is allergic to the Apricot/Peach/Nectarine family, and my son is allergic to Soy. Makes meal planning interesting sometimes, I have to carefully check labels and sometimes make substitutions so we can all eat the same things.

wow that is interesting. My daughter has a sensitvity to soy eggs and dairy but she could consume it in small batches. Your daughter probably has a birch allergy as well.

wassup it's your pal stinge. I have to say my email has been lit up from all the notifications of the conversations you started. you are really doing your thing girl. I'm also new to mylot and it is pretty cool. I do have the same reactions to fried fish, walnuts and pecans. my throat gets all itchy and a bit swollen. remember how your parents used to say, how do you know you don't like something until you try it, and they would almost force you to try it. my pops did that to me one night a long time ago. he came home with these brazillian nuts, I think thats what they were called, and he says try deez nuts..lol. but you know when you look at something, you can tell if you will like it or not before you even taste it. II shook my head no, since I know my history with nuts. my pops is like, how do you know if you don't like it if you don't try it. so I tasted one just to make him happy, and of course a few moments later my throat swelled up, and I had problems swallowing. I told him to take me to the doctor cuz my throat was swollen. He just made me gargle with some warm water and salt and it was fine. afterwards I told him and my mother, I'm not just making things up when I say my throat gest all itchy when I eat something. my mom used to say that it was all in my head when I would complain about the fried fish. I don't have a problem with tuna fish or other sea foods. just fried fish. It's th same with the walnuts and pecans. I can't eat them, but I can eat peanuts, cashews and almonds. I also have been calling it an allergic reaction. Lately I've been eating the tuna cutlets that came in the square aluminum packs, and for some reason the inside of my left cheek gets a rashy feeling after I eat them.
