Hi friends, you all know well i am reading my first book. I started it a months back and i am yet to finish the book. I could able to complete more than 93% of the book, but to complete the balance its taking me more than a weeks time ..in 3 weeks i could complete 93% but in 1 week i could not able to complete the balance.. Is it a common phenomenon happens and takes time to complete the last pages..how about you

When I saw the subject of the discussion,I thought at first it was to do with those people who cheat themselves by looking at how the book ends before beginning reading it! So this is the FIRST book You've ever read? Maybe the book isn't interesting enough for You to be a first read,in that you seem to have stalled in your progress towards the end..a good book to read should be a page turner, the storyline drawing you onwards, wanting to find out what happens next until you get to that last page! Good luck in finishing it,and getting a more involving read next time!

There's only (Thankfully! )few books I've ever read that were so disappointing by the end that I didn't want to finish them..one in particular that comes to mind had telegraphed the conclusion so far in advance of the end,I actually did stop reading it at that point..it's disappointing when the book has been enjoyable to that point.

Good storyline and interesting character, that's right. I never force myself to read something I'm not interesting in even others say it's important for me. Reading is also the way to be yourself.

I agree completely. I think that choosing a book based on your interests is the key to successfully completing it. Often times, I'll read the first few pages just to see if it holds my interest before purchasing or borrowing. Alot of times, a good book not only has a great storyline and interesting characters but transistions well from one paragraph to the next. I find it difficult to read a book and will lose interest if I have to keep referring back to previous pages or chapters to understand it.

I thinks its other way round for me. It takes lot of time to read first 25% part and then rest i finish very fast. when it comes to climax I normally finish last 15% in one day. I just can not wait to know the climax of the book. But on the other hand if i dint like the book, i stop reading it after first 25%.

Are you asking if you should stop reading your book when you get to 93% ? Because that would be a NO, finish the book. That's great that you are reading. Reading is knowledge. Conversation is also knowledge! That's why I come to my lot. I am a beginning writer, doing prety well and I truly believe it's because I am a member of mylot. I come over to my lot several times a week and chat, It helps with my spelling, punctuation, structure, ect. I truly believe that if I didn't come to my lot, I wouldn't be a writer today.

The last few pages are the ones to savour lol, they are definatley the pages that I need to wait until I have some special me time for!Last week we had some family stay for a couple of days,I had been to the bookshop and bought a new novel,a run of the mill one,but it looked interesting enough to me,well lol one of the alads decided to read out the ending!I was in no way annoyed with him,I said to him that my memory is a little poor and as soon as ten minutes had elapsed I would have forgotten what he had said anyway!!

hi friend the reason is that , me personally at the start there is much excitement but at the end i become bored . while in novels the end is more interesting and meaning full that is why the end of novel is completed just faster then start. Prince Sad
