My cat knows how I feel. He's normally active and hyper, but last week when I was sick he came and slept with me very calmly. Not at all his personality, so I'm pretty sure he knew something was up with his human.

Well I too once had a bird and a dog that played together all of the time, it was very cute. And yes pets do really know how you feel. I have a cat, and I am disabled. He always seems to know when I am feeling down.I had a wreck last week, as soon as I walked in the door it was like he knew it alreday, he was waiting for me, rubbed up agained me, and would not leave ,my side. When I am not feeling good, he always lays right beside me.giving me husa and kisses.

My cats always very well know what I am just surviving. Whether I am sad, cheerful, or bad, always know how to behave. They are sweet how I am sad and when I'm feeling down. When I am cheerful, they are accosting in order to play with them, and when I am bad... are getting out of my way... ;) Regards, malawika.

Pets definitely do know what their people are feeling. I had hip surgery 2 years ago and my cat displayed a totally different behavior while I was recovering. She, like most cats had a habit of getting under my feet, running between my legs, you know all those things cats do, but while I was recovering, when I was up walking with my walker and later with my cane she stayed far away from me. She also developed a pronounced limp and had a hard time getting up and down, just like I did. Once my limp was gone and I was recovered, the resumed her habit of running between my legs and getting under my feet. . .and lost her limp. She's 14 years old now.

Pets are very sensitive in my opinion, especially cats. Mine is usually mischievous and playful, but when I'm sad or unhappy, she would be quiet and try to comfort me. And the funniest thing is, when I'm singing and being happy, she'd lashes her tail trying to beat time to the music as well.
