This is one bit of news that actually is uplifting and helps restore faith in people. I think its wonderful that the students of this young girl's school see the beauty in her and acknowledge it so freely and publicly. If only everyone else could see and understand how special down's kids are and what a gift they are to us too. I think they would all be a little happier, because down's kids really do bring so much joy and laughter to us, and just by Being they encourage us to be better, happier, more loving people.

I do believe in integration. It is a wonderful story that a lady with down syndrome was crowned as a high school queen.

I think that this is totally awsome! I am glad that they are treating this girl like they should be treating her, just like everone else! And it's about time! I think that this is such a wonderful thing to see! She is a beautiful young girl who has accomplished so much in spite of everything and everybody! She has showed proof that she is the same as all the other kids in every way and deserves to wear the crown proudly! This was just an incredible moment to see! And yes it brought me to tears too!I am typing through tear eye glasses!

Definitely a great story. That's a great thing for the school, students that voted her as queen, and the young girl herself. I'm sure this will give her great confidence to carry on a normal and successful life once she is out of high school. Congrats.
