Just a thought that I'd like to point out...alot of the questions on the surveys that friends forward on about getting to know you are...the security questions for websites.
Like:
Middle name
your mom's maiden name
name of your first pet
where you were born
home town
Theres a whole list of common security questions on MOST of those emails.
I'm usually REALLY careful about who i answer these to..if its family well they know most of these answers...and the others i dont bother filling in the answers or forwarding it on.
Do you fill these out? Had you noticed they were the security questions?

I joined one survey site but it didn't work out the way I thought it would. I did not think about the personal data they extracted from me. Maybe they were legit or maybe they were not. Nothing ever happened. Cheers!!

I do not do them, but I had not really made the security connection You are so right. I have also been told that those forwards have some way of gathering information about everyone who answers. Of course if people do not delete the list of copies, you are also subject to anything from them as well.
