In our high tech world today, I wonder if any of you still use gas(shellane or gasul) or firewood for cooking. Me? I'm using "shellane" right now because it is more convenient though the price is soaring high. I used to have firewood before during the times when I still have a house helper but now that I don't have one I use "shellane". But during times when it requires a lot of cooking like fiesta or birthdays, of course we use firewood so that we can save money and time. How about you? What do use for cooking and why?

i use electricity for cooking. here in germany we find most of the people have electricity in basic and we use electric stoves and it is very less that people use gas. but here the electric stoves are really very slow and i dont like it as it takes long time to cook and i dont want so much of time spending in kitchen. but i have a glassherd and it is really fast and i do my cooking fast as it happens in gas stoves. in india we usually use gas and i feel those are really very fast and less time to cook and the work really fifnishes very fast and easily. but here also i have no need to worry for cooking as my glassherd called ceran is also fast enough and can cook faster.

firewood is really difficult to manage and cook and also it consumes more work and i am really surprised even in this day of technology too you have been using fire wood , in india we find this in villages and also even there it is very rare. if people are not able to afford it then too they use a small in stove of gas atleast. how about in your place, does all use firewood or what?

Here in my place, we sell firewoods. And a lot of people buy it. Probably because they want to save their money to buy for something more important like foods. Some also uses gas and some electric stoves. But personally I'm using gas. It's more convenient to me.

We'll yes going to restaurants is more cheap if you go to restaurants with affordable prices. And its more convenient, no need to wash the dishes, you save time to cook. You just sit there, order and eat. But it is only good if done once in a while since it will become expensive if done all the time.

Hi! we're using gas as well, same as you, the gas we're using for cooking is Shellane. Sometimes, we use other things like electric range, that is if our gas was unexpectedly ran out, which happens most than often. We didn't use it very often though for emergency purposes only, having a high price of electricity and all, not quite practical to use it for daily cooking.

You're right! So as much as possible while we can still have other means to save might as well reserved the electric stove for emergency purposes.

Inside we use electricity. Outside when we are grilling out we use gas as well as wood. I would love to have an indoor wood cookstove. My uncle use to cook on one often. He was great at cooking on that thing. I would like to find one and set it up to cook on myself.

hello meticulo, We're using "gasul" right now. It's more convenient and easier to use not to mention the price is expensive. Good thing our friend who is in "gasul" business offers us to be an outlet. This way, we can avail discount and save some money and most of all share to others too for we're just adding ten pesos to the outlet price. When we were small, we used to use firewood for we have lots of woods to use. They say that food that were cooked in firewood taste better than gas. Maybe because of the smoke....

We use Firewood, gas (LPG), Electro magnetic Induction cookers. We use firewood for some special foods and sometime to cook rice or bulky items as well. We use gas for small scale everyday cooking. Induction cookers are used mainly for rise cooking.

I use LPG for cooking, but if I ran out of it, I use my electric stoves. I still use the coconut charcoal if I have time and during the holidays. Firewoods are scarce now and DENR and CENRO are so strict here when it comes to cutting of woods.

We have a lot of firewoods here. I guess DENR would only prohibit those illegal lumbers like lawaan and the like. I believe loggers have the agreement to plant trees in exchange for every tree they cut. So that flood will not occur during rainy season.

I guess firewood is really cheaper. But at the same time, it's very bad for the environment. We've been using gas as far as I remember. We used charcoal to grill some meat before, but we now have an electric grille. Charcoal is bad for the environment as well and not too healthy.

Hi there! I usually use gas for cooking but when I run out of it, I use firewood. I also use the latter if I cook for a party or some ocassions when I expect visitors and I need to cook plenty of foods.

We use gasul, way more convenient and nature friendly. It is hard to cook with firewood, I have never tried to. It just seems so hard, the smoke gets in your eyes and I keep thinking of the smoke that I inhale is not so good for my health and the children in the household. It may be economical but the health hazards that it entails, I'd rather use gas or electricity, no matter how high the price is!

Hi there! I enjoy cooking on firewood and my husband and my family knows that! But I can only cook on firewood in my sister place and I miss it so much because I wasn't in my home country for almost 2 years now! At the moment were using gas and I don't know if its shellane or gasul! Back there I use shellane and yes you are right the price is high but not here in Egypt. Have a nice day.

Hey there! We use MGas LPG. It is more convenient than fire wood or charcoal. They are rolling it back, I admit the prices were high the previous months. In our province, where there is plenty who woods, we use firewood because you just get it from the nearby places and very cheap, if not for free.

I am using right now charcoal because we are only few in the family. Just me, my husband and a 5 yr. old daughter. Before I am using gas(shellane) because I am always in a hurry for my time at work and gas was sold at a cheaper price. Now it is soaring so high and I cannot afford to add it on my budget so we shifted to charcoal beside my time at work was not in a hurry so I have plenty of time to prepare food for the family.
