I am listening to Arabic music on the University Radio. I don't know Arabic although I have learned it for five years in school. It is so complicated to write, though some vocabulary is similar to Maltese. Well I am enjoying listening to the rhytm of the Arabic music, and although I am not understanding the lyrics (excluding one word there and now) I am really relaxing. Do you listen to music in a foreign that you don't understand? © ronaldinu 2008

I listened to some African music recently, and loved it. I also listened to some European music. I don't even know what language it was, except that it was some European language, and I really enjoyed it. And I love Sanskrit music too, although I don't understand Sanskrit. Cheers and happy mylotting

Yes, I listen to music in languages I don't understand too. I have some Indian, Bulgarian, Native American, or Thai music in my playlist. I think as long as the music we listen pleases us, not understanding what the lyrics say is not such a big loss.

At the moment I have the local radio station on and Meatloaf is playing away there, very good.I like rock music.I have listened to some Arabic music,as I have Arabic relations, and they compose music for guitar, they have composed a number of tracks for guitar and vocals, and I have had them put on to a CD ,they have been enjoyable though I have no understanding of the Arabic language, but though a few tracks are not understandable to me,I still can get the gist of them,as the emotion finds its way out of the music, and comes over very well.

Hi ya ronaldinu I have listened to a lot of Arabic music in the past and it is a shame that you don't understand what they are singing but I can assure you it is all good for they always sing about love. I am sure you have heard the words 'habibi' numerous times which means 'my love'. Enjoy!!

As one of my favourite types of music is opera, I am almost always listening to it in a foreign language bacause most of it is written in Italian. I am always promising myself that I will learn Italian but I have never gotten past the first couple of lessons. Maybe someday...

I love Salsa. I know a few words in Spanish but not enough to understand all the words of the songs. I also like French music too.And the music from Bollywood movies too.It doesn't matter to me that I can't understand the words I love hearing the voices and the music.

I like Latin music, especially Latin jazz. Music is universal, the language doesn't matter. In fact, the foreign language adds to the beauty of the music.

Yes sometimes I do listen. Korean and chinese music are appealing to me. I like the beat and they seem to sound good to my ear. I also love Spanish songs as I understand some Spanish words. Arabic songs I also did hear once and it is also okay. I think all countries have their own way of expressing through music and each has talented musicians and singers who can compose and sing music.

I have never listened to Arabic music, though I am interested. Where is a good place to start for the novice? I listen to some alternative and such that is in varied languages, and some south african suite, that is pretty much the extent of music in foreign languages that I listen to.
