Are you against or in favor of censoring obscenes in movies by law ?

Do you say 'just leave it to the viewers ' or 'its bad for the society' when it comes to censoring obscene part in the movies by the govt or law. What is your opinion ?

I am against it..It can never be called bad for the society..As those deleted scenes exist in the real world there is no need to censor or delete from movies...

Dude movie is not the only source for people to view such things.. Even real life beheading and all is available in net..So banning those scenes from movies wont make sense..Also I think movies are a good medium to expose the violence which happens in real life..

I firmly believe that there are worst things that are in this world than what can be presented in a movie or a TV show, and if people do not experience it firsthand, they are sure to hear about it. If TV and movies are censored, then all media, by this logic, should be censored as well. Including the news. The news should no longer cover anything that describes anything violent that goes on in this world. We should censor the world, too, because it's a horrible place. We should start raising our children to think that the world is a non-violent, caring, warm place. No, Daddy wasn't hitting Mommy, that's how he says, "I love you." Instead of trying to solve things, we should simply ignore them and pretend they don't exist, because that is what censorship does. Am I right?

ya you're right, there're so many things that we've got to rectify in this world other than this topic we're discussing & as you said this must began at home....but the thing is that movies have so much influence on the society that they are responsible for shaping society as i mention above... Thanks !!

I was actually being somewhat sarcastic in my response. I am completely against censorship. I was trying to go to the extreme side of the "censor everything" movement to show how bad it would be if we tried to censor everything.

Hi zatak.. I believe that there is no reason to censoring obscenes scenes in movies. I think that the viewers must decide if they want to see those scenes or not.. if is any minor age watching, the very same network broadcasting those scenes must blame to show at non appropriate time..

no probs , that's your own opinion but the thing is that every viewers might not be able to digest it, i mean like it might induce the society perversity , & about your views for minors the timing doesn't matters that much, i think censoring will be more safer :-) Thanks !!
