Hello Bala, How are you.........and what a discussion, it makes me angry because inspite of trying my best , I can never never save anything...lol.......I will say for me spending is very easy and saving is very very hard.I am a thrifty person.........actually Bala I think only those people can save who have extra money left after they have fulfilled their basic needs of roti, kapda aur makan, and those who have something left even after they have paid all the bills and taxes........And also those lucky people can save whose ancestors have earned a lot and have left behind for children to live in peaceful life. unfortunately, I am not from those lucky people.......and I can say I cannot save because I don't have anything left to save.....and this is the truth, bedsides I am not stingy person by nature. I love to spend and make family and others happy.....like kow, piyo aur maze karo........I am very confused person Bala, I myself don't know my limitations.........as I aways say.......a real buddu narayan....

Try to start a recurring deposit account and save as little as you can.It can be a very minuscule amount that you put into that A/C every month.See how much has it grown at the end of the twelfth month. It gives you a great inspiration to save. They say the strong point of Indians is the saving not the spending.

Bala you will be surprised to know that here in Israel it is not worth saving in banks....they don't give any interest.......it is real waste.......I know in India people can live only on interest amount....but here it is not possible........ They just don't give us any option to become rich.....

Isn't it strange that they were accused of collecting huge interests as they run business in Germany.

Spending the money saved by others on oneself, with no strings attached at either end, is the best optition ever, that I can think of...

Why can't you be a little straight forward and say I like to spend my husband's savings.

Spending Balasri, without any doubt. Anyway that has been my experience. You can take years to save and spend in a moment. Alternatively someone like me finds it difficult to save and am spending easily.

Both are easy for me. I find it easy to spend when I want to....and I always save. I LIKE to spend....but I don't spend unless I know that I have enough saved away. So, honestly...both are easy for me...and it's all in the mind.

Spending is way easier. You get a bill, you spend $. You need food, you spend $. You need clothes, you spend $. You go to work, you spend $ to get there. By the time you get done spending, save what money?

Saving is no problem for me, because I just don't spend money on things that I do not need.

The exact way of saving the money. Not wasting it on the things we do not need.

Definitely its spending which is more easier. Its really hard to save.We try our best to make a list before going for shopping thinking we must stick to our needs. Then once you go into the market or mall you see things that are not on your list and you get tempted and land up buying. This is where we need to balance our needs against our wants.I for one get tempted very easily and after the spending is done I do feel very guilty about it.I really admire people who just don't care about saving and they spend living it up.That scares me.Though its easily said than done, 'live for today do not think about your tomorrow'.

It is a sin not to save having children. Our biggest responsibility is their future.

Of course the easy answer is to say it's easier to spend that to save but I guess it could depend on where you are in life. For example, a few years ago I found it difficult to save as most of my wages went to my mortgage, bills and every day expenses and it left just enough to spend on having a social life or stay at home most weekends. I turned to the internet and found that chatting with my online friends became a social thing for me so I spent less time going out to meet friends at the pub or going to the cinema and that sort of thing. I then found it was quite possible to earn money online so I started writing on various sites and in recent years I started a job where I'm earning almost double what I earned previously - even though I'm earning so much more, I have got into the habit of saving 30-40% of my monthly salary and putting it in separate savings accounts and having an active social life and not being in debt at all (apart from a small mortgage) - so I could say I find it easier and less stressful to save money these days... :)

You get the BR for saying that saving or spending depends on what stage of life we are.Absolutey true.I was a spendthrift before marriage.I was compelled to save a little for my wife too after marriage. Then after my daughter was born I have cut down my needs substantially and her expenses and savings for her took the priority.

Hello balasri. It is not that easy to save money, but easier to spend money because money goes more easily spending than saving.

So you have to make a lot more to make some semblance of saving I think.

Of course spending the money is easier than saving. It is my own experience, you can spend your money anytime and anywhere because all thing need to use money. But to save our money it is more hard and need sacrify. I think i have finish my money more than i saving, have a friends who just selfish and want us to pay for them is make life more difficult to save own money. From now, I regret to spend my money that way and promise to always think twice before spend it.

Hello,Sri! In these days it is difficult to make out some money to save. But we have to save for future emergency or to make some assets.it is easier to spend money but difficult to save no doubt but I save first of all approximately 30% of my income for future use. While in service I was saving 45% of my salary but after retirement I have reduced it to just 30%.Out of this savings I have constructed a house in the city where presently I am residing. So savings is a must for me.thanx.

Spending money is a lot easier if you have lots of it, but if you save wisely you might have some left over to spend.

Of course it is easy to spend than to save. Once you money is at your hands at the back of your mind you will think already of some things to buy and you will forgot to save.

definitely spending it. it takes no effort at all for me, and my existence is the live-till-the-next-payday kind. saving money is something i've been trying to do for years, but so far i've had no success.
