Although I know that the answer of this question depends on every person's own views and interests but I want to know them as they can help me and other users also.I give any response positive rating if it is relevant to the discussion and it answers most of the queries in the discussions. What is your thinking about it,please share it with me.Happy Mylotting.

I read the responses and rate them positive if the response is related to the subject of the topic and how they answered it. I will also rate them positive if they disagree with me but still related to the subject. If some one is being nasty or rude I just don't rate them at all.

Your point is very good that responses should be related to the discussion whether they are agreed or disagreed to it.

if the discussion is well-explained, interesting and educational. Clearly written and with good appeal to everyone... I'll rate it good also...

Well its your choice and opinion but I think that mylot is not for friendship only.It is for healthier conversation between general persons.Quality and knowledge is what everyone looking for so you must have a response related to the discussion first.

If it is related to the discussion to start with and has good points or pointers, is interesting, sometimes if I find it funny too

i give positive rating to those response that "make sense".It doesn't' matter for me if it agrees or contradict my opinion or the other discussions posted. As long as the post has proven a point,I immediately rated it positive

I'm pretty new to this and didn't actually notice the rating system until a few days ago! Now when I rate people's responses I put a lot of stock in grammar (it doesn't have to be perfect but bad grammar is a big pet peeve of mine) and how articulate the answer is. If it's just a point form little more than yes or no reply I don't rate it at all. But if it's well thought out and insightful then I have no problem giving it a postive even if it disagrees with me.

If the comment adds something to the discussion, leads to further involvement in the discussion etc. whether it agrees with the discussion starter or the majority of the comments or not, I rate it positive. I can't feel right about rating a person negative for not agreeing with me, though I know that some people do that. I only rate negative if the comment doesn't even pertain to the discussion at all (and I see that happen quite a bit) or if they are unnecessarily rude in their comment.
