Why aren't people paying attention to these guidelines?

Recently the guidelines were posted for everyone to read. I continue to see several of the repeatedly being ignored, however. Am I the only one? I find it hard to find discussions to reply to sometimes because I see the same things being asked over and over again. These are the guidelines I see violated over and over again. Am I the only one that is noticing this? Does this bother anyone else or am I just an old fogey that wants to actually discuss things and not just try to make an easy buck? Do Please make sure you give your best effort to respond with quality responses. If you don’t know how to respond to a discussion, go on to the next one. Answers like “I don’t know” or “I don’t care” don’t help anyone and will be removed. Make sure you search for existing topics before starting new discussions. Don't Start discussions asking for one word answers like “Yes or No”. Start meaningless discussions or give meaningless responses to try and boost your rating. Discussions like “What’s your age” will be deleted as well as short responses like “ok” or “no”. Start game and poll type discussions. For example, discussions like “How old are you” or “Let’s see how high we can count, I’ll start with one”. Post any links promoting other affiliate programs or that do not pertain to the discussion. Posting the same link over and over or posting links that have no relevance to the discussion is not allowed. Post discussions soliciting a response for a response for example “+” rating for a response. These are against our terms and will be deleted. Post similar or identical postings. Stealing posts from other users or posting the same thing over and over again will not help your myLot earnings. Multiple identical postings, even if legitimate, may be considered spam.

It is a combination of things based on human nature: 1. they don't read the guidelines 2. they think the guidelines are for everyone but them 3. they figure they won't get caught 4. they can't come up with a new discussion 5. they are after the money and will get it no matter what I find it refreshing when I see a question that hasn't been asked before or, better yet, a medically based question since that is my area. I found so many repeat questions today that I only answered a few that I have not seen/answered before...no where near the minimum of 25 that I usually answer when I am here. I avoid the repeat questions because they will be deleted if mylot sees them and then the time spent answering them is wasted. I sure wish more would read and follow the guidelines though as it might make for some very interesting topics in here.

Yes, I agree. It's so annoying to see the same thing over and over again. It's really irritating to see the "answer me and I'll give you a + and then read mine and give me a + too". I've been seeing a lot of those again lately as well. It seems like it's been extra bad today for some reason. Like you, I've had a really hard time even finding anything worthwhile to respond to.

I agree so I am going to call it a day. I am seeing the same questions for the most part and just don't want to lose any answers because a question was deleted. Hope things will be better tomorrow. Thanks for posting something unique!

Basically I think a lot of the people here are just lazy. They want to post easy answers and want to post easy and quick responses. In both cases they don't want to put any time or effort into it. I'm also willing to bet that in most cases the people here never bother to read the guidelines.

Boring or not, if you want to make money on here and remain on here and not get booted out, you need to know them.

Evidently the new people aren't reading them. I'm not sure why. It gets really frustrating to see a lot of these boring questions that require yes or no answers asked over and over again.

I was going to ask that same question myself. In responding to discussions today (2 in particular), this is what I found: 1. People are cutting and pasting portions of the discussion topic itself and using it as their response. 2. People are cutting and pasting complete responses from another person in the same discussion and using it as their response. I got so upset with this today, that I made comments to them and reported them to myLot. Then I forgot to go back and respond to the discussion itself. I'll do that yet. These were discussions started by people who weren't on my friends list (I'd already responded to most of those). I sure hope myLot is paying attention to this type of abuse. Some of us spend a few minutes to try and respond in an intelligent and informative manner, and these people really upset me...although none of them have copied any of my responses yet. I did see one person who even added after a cut and paste that they had copied it because they didn't like to type long responses, or something like that.

Those people really irritate me and I do report them everytime I see them. I've noticed that since the latest change took place the short responses have pretty much stopped, but like you said the cut and pastes are out of control! If these people would spend half the time just responding normally, rather than finding ways around the system everyone would be much better off!
