Do you consider yourself a Computer Geek? Or do other people say you are?

Computer Geek Tag - I am sure some people actually wear these.

I am a certified computer geek!! I am on my computer for hours at a time. I email, myLot, move files around, browse and game for endless hours at a time. I love it. My whole family including my parents and kids call me a computer geek. I just laugh because it is so funny. I am a 43 year old married woman of two kids which does not really fit the normal description of a computer nerd or geek. I really don't mind the label at all. How does it make you feel when someone calls you that??

Yes, I do. I am in front of the computer all the time. Since I am a programmer, I know quite a lot about computers. When there's a problem with a computer in the house, my family usually goes to me for help to fix the problem. I also play computer games and browse the internet all the time so I guess I really am a computer geek. LOL!

Good for you!! Does it bother you that people call you a computer geek? It has stopped bothering me, in fact I take it as a compliment.

I'm definitely a computer geek! I love computers and computers are my life! I'm on my computer for most of the time and I recently took a course in computer maintenance and installation. I love looking inside a computer and seeing what's what so I guess this kind of makes me a computer geek, hopefully not a nerd though! I can laugh and joke about this too. I think that if you are referred to as a computer geek then you should take it as a compliment! I know I definitely would take it as a compliment. This kind of means that you know your stuff when it comes to computers! Now, I wouldn't exactly go shouting down the street "Hey people, guess what, I'm a computer geek!" You can virtually guarantee I would end up having a tomato thrown in my face! Inwardly though, I kind of like that label! Happy computing. Andrew

Oh wow way too funny. Ya I think you are right about running down the street shouting "I'm a computer geek" may get a tomatoe or two in the face. Although I really like tomatoes one in the face would probably hurt. Don't you think?? LOL

Well if I am on the computer for a long time in one day, my brother will call me a computer nerd. Usually this is when I'm having a big day on mylot! However I am not that computer savvy. I don't really understand the ins and outs of computers and often need help when it comes to the technical stuff. I think being a computer geek would be very handy indeed! As long as your kids are being bathes and fed, you should be proud to be a computer geek!

My one son is an adult and moved out of the house and my daughter is almost 16 so there is not a worry about looking after them that closely anymore. Our daughter does everything on her own anymore at her age. But we always try to sit down together every night for dinner.

I guess it's all in the perspective of the person calling you the name. I would ask myself how long I was on the computer in an average day to determine whether I was a geek or not. LOL

Yes that is a polite way of saying it. But it is so enticing to browse around and find new information.
