As all the 5 year olds, mine(daughter) is also very inquisitive and will think of future and worry herself, she keeps on telling me 'why was I born a girl and not a boy like brother', and the reason is she will have to give birth when she grows and it would be painful, how she knows....? she saw how my tummy was big before her younger brother was born and how I went through all.... Her other doubt is 'Why should girl leave her family after her marriage, to live with husband, is it better to marry the brother, that way no need leave her house.....' How well can you convince your daughter/son with your answers...

I think just to be honest, tell the truth and talk to her as she is a big girl, it is amazing what kids can actually understand and take in, unless it is a fun thing like Father Christmas and the Easter Bunny kids should be told the truth....

Of course I tell her the truth, but the first question wherein she says I would rather be a boy, what can you say, I told her somethings - we have to just accept as it is and cannot be changed... but she keeps on repeating the same thing again and again....
