i am still trying (quite unsuccessfully) to get my husband to quit smoking. thus i would like to hear it from the former smokers who decided to quit this habit. how did you manage to stop yourself from smoking? i would like my husband to read your answers. maybe he can get ideas from you good people of myLot, because honestly, i'm all out of ways. *sigh* anything you share would be highly appreciated! thanks!

you really want to know how? Ok brace yourself and pray to deities and gods and goddesses that this would not be the way your hubby can quit smoking I learned to smoke last 1999, when I was still in high school I said to myself that I would not smoke because it is a vice that you can do everywhere. And then when I was in college I got really curious, I started smoking and then I got addicted to it. I smoke heavily specially when we have rallies and cultural nights and lock ups . And then hubby and I lived together, 2003 I got pregnant with my first baby, and I have no choice but quit, and then i started smoking again on 2006 but got pregnant again last year, and no choice but to quit. See? It worked twice to me..

My uncle is such a heavy smoker, and he tried quitting once, and I have observed that he would shake or tremble involuntarily, and he would have certain mood swings. When those stuff manifested, he quit the quitting of smoking thing. He still is smoking and we could no longer do anything for him.

I do not understand why smokers do not have the strong will to quit smoking. They should realize that smoking gives them an early passport to the grave. You can do nothing to stop them from smoking if they want to quit half heartedly. Get your husband to chew chewing gum or sweets whenever he feels like smoking. Though it will take a long time to kick the addiction but he will eventually give up smoking. Every puff of smoke will shoten his life and worse the people around him will also inhale the smoke which is worse than the smoker himself.

my ex bf is a heavy smoker. i tried to make him stop and i know it wasn't really easy for him. what he did was smoke just 1 or 2 sticks per day. he used to smoke 1-2 packs everyday. after 1 stick...he'll just eat menthol candy. it worked for him til he quit
