There has been much debate between laptops and desktops in the last few years. This debate is understandable seeing how laptops are becoming more and more used in america. Laptops are offering competitive speeds and graphics compared to desktops with almost no set up and prices that continue to get more affordable. The american in todays society is calling for the ability to be wireless in all aspects of his or her life. Everything from internet to gps to email is wireless or is widely becoming wireless. The only question now is how to access all of their wireless information. The answer to that is the laptop. This is why the laptop has been gettin so much attention lately. It seems like more and more laptops are being bought and les desktops. Even the schools are starting to integrate laptops into the learning process, which is a great idea.

Laptops are very useful especially if you're the kind of person who keeps on going to different places. However, the performance given by a desktop cannot be compared to a laptop. First of all, desktops can handle high processing speeds than a laptop. It's life would also be longer than that of a laptop and it would actually cost less. If you're using a computer just in one place, like schools, i think that it will be better to use desktops.

I'll definitely stick to my laptop. It really made my life easier. I could access information with just on my finger tips. I don't like the wires coming out of my pc. I still love my pc though. It helped me through my college life.

i would go for a laptop anyday. The ability to use my computer anywhere i go when i need it is definately nice, or even in the house if i want to relax on the couch or in bed while i do work on the laptop it is definately nice and better than having no choice but to sit in one spot wherever the desktop may be. Laptops will get more and more popular especially seeing as how if someone wants to use a monitor they can hook that up to the laptop or use a docking station. much more convienient

I happen to be using a desktop right now but it is only because I had to take my laptop back to the place I got it for a little while. Honestly, I miss it. It came in very handy when I was traveling all the time. Having a computer at all has become useful to my life. I can keep in touch with family that lives far away without having a phone up to my ear the whole time even though I like to talk and that runs in my family. I didnt know that schools were starting to integrate and upgrade to laptops instead of desktops.

I have been using a desktop PC for the past 12 years and just recently bought a laptop. I now realise what I was missing all this time. i have greater mobility, higher speed, and more flexibility. I used ot be stuck ratehr glued to my desktop in one corner of the house while the other family memvbers sat in a different room. They used to be for ever after me to quit and join them. Now I can sit with them where ever they are and be part of the crowd yet do my work. I am not hassled with too many wires hanging down. Its a neat and tidy arrangement. Earlier when I went on short trips, i had to visit the cyber cafes to sty in touch. now i am all the time connected, even while on the move. I have a wireless net connection and switch over to wifi where ever there is wifi available. I think a laptop is any day bettter.

I bought a new Dell desktop earlier this year. Both my kids have gotten laptops since then. I wish I would have gotten a laptop. Then I could have added a docking station to use it like this desktop when I want a bigger keyboard. I really like just sitting on the sofa watching a movie or working on my websites. So my answere is a laptop.

Laptop is definitely better nowadays. Labtops can give you more power than you need and they are no longer that expensive. Also they are portable. This is a major plus for college students. In college it helps to be able to type notes or record lectures during class. Laptops these days can translate recorded lectures into typed notes as well so I see no need to keep a desktop at home and not use these amazing features. The only use I see for a desktop is if you are a gamer. And even then you would have to be a really hardcore gamer in order to need more power than a a good laptop can provide.

laptops annoy me sometimes, i recognize that they're very practical, you can carry it everywhere. but i find desktops more comfortable, i don't know why.

It all depends on what you'll be using them for. For example, if you'd be using it for simple tasks like homework or email, then its no question that the laptop is better. But if you're a computer gamer, than the desktop is easily the better choice. Not only do you have more performance per dollar, butyou also probally have superior sound and screen size.

Laptops are more compact and we can carry wherever we need..but it is not in the case of Desktops..the business people, entrepreneurs, college students can use laptops..but school children should use Desktops..the place of application decides the system..Desktop or laptop..In offices, the company cannot provide laptops to all the employees..so there desktops are used..in colleges Desktops are used..students have laptops for their personal use..Hence the place of application decides whether it is laptop of desktop..

Well I use my laptop more than my desktop do to the fact that i'm not always at home. Laptops are great since they are portable and they can offer almost what the desktop can offer. The only disadvange I've seen is that the laptop is a lot more fragile since you're moving it around and all compared to the desktop. The fact that it's so light, someone can easily trip over the wire(if you have it plugged in) and there goes your laptop. Plus a laptop is a bit more expensive to repair and the parts don't last as long as the desktop. Well for me anyways. So both the desktop and laptop have their respective advantages they also have their own disadvantages.

A laptop is my choice. The desktop is the best speed wise as its not wireless, even though laptop can be wired. Laptops have improved leaps and bounds though and I think a desktop will soon be a thing of the past. Too bulky.
