In our calendar, the week starts with Sunday. But school and office starts on Monday and also, God rested on the 7th day. Which christians thinks is a sunday, since on sundays we go to church. so regardless of religion, what do you think is the first day of the week? monday or sunday?

For me, Sunday is the first day of the week. The 7th day when God rested is Saturday, thus, the sabbath day. But even though I go to church on Sundays, I still adhere to keeping the sabbath day holy. Yep, Sunday's the first week day for me.

Sunday is the first day to most people a you can see from the way calendars reflect the days. The first day on the calendar is a sunday and the last day is a Saturday. Actually, the Bible says Gd rested on the 7th day which is actually the Sabbath day. Don't be misled by the fact that most religions look at Sunday s the Sabbath. Actually it is the Saturday. Sunday being considered the Lord's Day is just a modern invention rfor onvenience and not because it is the original Sabbath. But hat is important is that one day of the week is set aside for the lord and that is sabbath for the person concerned.

here in the mideast, especially where i am now, the week starts on Saturday. but in philippines, i don't think there monday is the first day of the work week. i think its logical to start the week on monday, but keep the calendar as is. we'll get even more confused if we change it! :)

Physically because the work week and school week start on Monday. I was taught that Sunday is the first day of the week and Sabbath is on Saturday. I looked this up and it all makes sense. Sabbath is the day of rest, and technically the day of rest should be the day we go to church. I think people through the years changed it to Sunday. The way I look at it now is Sunday--church day--is a good way to start the week. Saturday should be the day of rest because it is the end of the week. However you look at it, the Calender is what it is. Sunday is the beginning and Saturday is the End!

On earth realm terms it is Monday that I consider to be the first day of the week. But, on the Bible and God's perspective, it is supposed to be on a Sunday.. I will have to go for what God says..

Our calendars show that Sunday is the beginning of the week, and that's what I've accepted. Business weeks begin on Monday, the second day of the week.

The first day of the week is Sunday. when God created the world he started it in the first day of the week until he finished it on the 6th day of the week, then he rested on the 7th day which is Saturday. This is the reason why there are people who go to church on Saturday because that is the day God rested form his work through out the week. We can see it in our Calendar, the first day is Sunday and the 7nth is Saturday.

I've always used Sunday as the first day but as you pointed out it doesn't make much sense. I think Monday should be first.

There is too much that is unknown about things like this to be sure about anything. We also chose December 25th as the Birth date of Jesus but I doubt very seriously if that is the true date when Jesus was born. I don't think it really matters what day we choose for something like that as long as we choose one and keep it holy. I think it's what we do on these days rather than when we do it that is important.

you know for the people who made the names of the week, Sunday is the first day, you know why? because they named it after the sun, which to them is the highest form. Monday is named after moon.it ancient times, Monday is actually the laundry day, some call Monday as blue day, why? because they say that times before, they use a blue die for white garments, and since they do the laundry every Monday, it is called blue day

My 1st day of the week will be monday ^_^ BEcause fri night after work, is just the beginning of weekend, and that we will have a full sat and half sun to play and relax ourself.. With the other half or sunday, be the time to rest and prepare ourselves for work the next day.. hehe ^_^ SO fri night plus 1st half of sunday, makes one full rest work, together with sat, we will have 2 full rest days.. lol =D SO monday will be just nice for work ^_^

your're correct, if we base it from the calendar & other traditions the week starts sunday. but since sunday is a rest day for everyone (as it is treated to be the family day or church day), as a tradition we made monday as the start of the week since it is the day after our rest which we also relate to the bible where god rested on the 7th day. so if we disregard religion, for me it doesn't matter what is the start of the week. either its sunday or monday. the imoprtant thing for me is that i could still have each day of living. but... since my days off are friday & saturday (which is my saturday & sunday for those who work in a regular shift), i would choose sunday as my 1st day of the week because it is the 1st day work day of my week & is also considered the 1st day in the calendar here in our office.
