vista has its own qualites like there is entire new gui for it,it has improved user graphical interface has widgets in it.the security is also improves lil bit. but i think xp is ultimate as xp is user friendly in many ways. Moreover Vista system reqirement are very musc high and personally i hate the windows apperance (similar to mac osx and looks very much dull).

If you are using XP and are quite content with it, then stick with it, especially if you have the SP3 upgrade service pack. This set up is a lot better than Vista and is the reason why no one wants vista and on purchasing new computers, they are down grading to XP. Something else to bear in mind is, if Vista is so good and fantastic, then why is Microsoft trying to rapidly finish the work on Windows 7 to replace it, with them trying to release it a whole year early. Lets just hope that Windows 7 is good and not another stinker like Vista.

Hi, There is a huge difference in the experience of using both the OSs. I prefer XP is 100% better than Vista. The number of prompts are way to much annoying in Vista. Old softwares dont work so you have to get new versions of each software you use because the drivers of old softwares like Nero, some antiviruses are not compatible. There is hell lot of trouble to use Vista. Stick to XP at all costs. But theres another angle to this. Microsoft had declared that it will stop support for XP. A marketing trend so that people are forced to buy their new Operating Systems. One more thing is that if you have a new PC without FDD and you have to install XP. Its not possible for SATA HDD. Using Vista is only headache..............

I recently bought a new laptop which has Vista on it and I keep returning to my old desktop PC which has XP. There are a couple of things here and there that are pretty cool about Vista, but on the whole I don't like it. Keep in mind that some of the software you may have had on XP will not be compatible with Vista like Nero 6 which I loved using and now I have to pay $60 to upgrade to Nero 9 as 6 is not compatible. Just today I had to return to XP to download a manual as Vista would not let me do it and I can't figure out why. I would stick to XP if I were you.

Hi friend, In my opinion Windows XP is better.I have tried out both of them and there is a large difference between them. The graphics are completely different and XP is mor user-friendly.Vista is latest and thats the reason it is so much hyped. But Windows XP is very convenient and easy to use.So, you should carry on with Windows XP.
