Obama Accepts Donations from Daffy Duck, Bart Simpson, KIng Kong and Family Guy

This article is unbelievable. How is Obama getting away with this fraud? What do Bart Simpson, Family Guy, Daffy Duck, King Kong, O.J. Simpson, and Raela Odinga have in common? All are celebrities; and with the exception of Odinga and O.J. Simpson, they also are fictional characters. And yet, all of them gave money earlier this month to the campaign of Barack Obama, without any apparent effort by the campaign to screen them out as suspect donors. Giving a Los Angeles address, O.J. Simpson listed his employer as the “State of Nevada” and his occupation as “convict.” The donor used a disposable “gift” credit card to make the donation. The Obama campaign sent O.J. a thank-you note confirming his contribution, and gave him the name of another donor who had agreed to “match” his contribution. Four minutes earlier, an individual using the name “Raela Odinga” also made a $5 contribution, using the same credit card. The real Raela Odinga became prime minister of Kenya in April and has claimed to be a cousin of Obama’s through a maternal uncle. Obama donor “Raela Odinga” listed his address as “2007 Stolen Election Passage” in “Nairobi, KY.” This credit card donation raised no alarm bells in the Obama campaign. http://www.newsmax.com/headlines/obama_illegal_donations/2008/10/21/142761.html?s=al&promo_code=6DD6-1

You don't have to identify yourself if you make a donation of less than $200 to either candidate. Using a fake name when you're donating five bucks to a campaign is not "fraud". Stop making things up.

It is not fraud under the law, regardless of what Newsmax says. I will remind you that Newsmax is the same source that originated a FALSE report that alleged Obama's attendance at Wright's church on July 22, 2007, during a controversial sermon. So now I'm supposed to believe they're magically credible? No, sorry; they've proven their lack of credibility, and something isn't magically fraud just because they say so.

ClarusVisum, You wouldn't believe it if someone told you the sky is blue if Obama said it wasn't! This is the kind of blind partisanship that is being sold by the "blinded by the Obamalites" that is so dangerous for the country! Healer, peacemaker? I think not!

A read an article not too long ago about questionable donations from Obamas camp. Here is the link: http://www.newsweek.com/id/162403 I find it funny how many things people have pointed out that is wrong about this election and the Obama camp yet people still think that he can't do any wrong. If he is so naive not to be able to notice things of this nature then I truly believe this country doesn't need him for a president. Too bad that there are so many others who believe Obama can do no wrong.

That 0bama must be quite a guy. I wonder if knows Donald Duck's brother, the Uncle of Huey, Looey, & Dooey, Uncle Scrooge. He was rich. Maybe he could get him to spread some wealth around to us myLotters.

I think when the dust settles Obama is going to find himself in a world of trouble and no way out. It would serve him right to get caught doing something like this...if you cheat, buy or lie your way in, you don't deserve to be in there in the first place. What ClarusVisum said. Nothing under $200 needs to be reported, and if people want to donate and make up names there's nothing illegal about that. All these cartoon characters who made $5 contributions are probably McCain supporters who were willing to give $5 to Obama to make a story like this come to light. Newsmax is blatantly biased against Obama, and no "news source" that biased for either side can be trusted.

Where did I say "McCain conspiracy"? We're talking about $5 contributions here - these are most likely from individuals. That's why this entire thing is a non-issue. And I'm going to say something else. If you want to vote for McCain because you agree with him on the issues, fine. But I get really tired of McCain supporters always saying that no one could possibly be voting for Obama for any other reason than because they're blinded, mesmerized, drank the Kool-Aid, think he's the messiah, etc. At least have the respect for people to acknowledge that some, in fact most of us are voting for him because we've studied the issues and agree with his policies more than McCain's.

Okay, I have some questions here. I am not an Obama supporter, but is it possible that some misguided soul in the McCain campaign did this to show up the Obama campaign and make it look stupid? Or are they just really stupid all on their own?

That's what I suspect, I mean, why would a real Obama supporter give a donation in the name of Daffy Duck or Goofy? But then again, who knows what people would do. It sounds like people who are against Obama would use names like this, but it doesn't matter anyway - any American citizen can donate to either candidate and if the donation is under $200 it doesn't have to be reported, so it can be anonymous, and you don't have to use your real name or a name at all. There's nothing fraudulent about this at all, people who are against Obama are just saying it is and they have nothing to back it up.

Well. maybe Daffy, Bart and king Kong dont mind giving up their rights to bear arms. Maybe they dont have a problem with a forced draft. Maybe they wont mind being forced into community service. Why, would they object to abortion? Probaly because they wouldnt be affected. The real cartoon character is Obama. You simply do not disarm a nation when they have been attacked at home and are in a war against terrorism ! This is all like looney tunes,,,guess whos looney...lol

I really have nothing to say in response to this except for...why is this even an issue? Seriously. People will blow anything out of proportion and pervert reality in order to make it favor their opinion. Crazy.

That's what I'd like to know. Where are people getting that donators giving false names is FRAUD? It's been made very clear that donations under $200 can be made anonymously, they don't have to be reported. So how is this fraud? It sounds weird so McCain supporters are throwing it out and calling it something bad, even illegal Obama is doing without any explanation of what's actually wrong with it.
