Have you ever had a band practice in your living room?

Wow there is nothing quite like a band practicing in your living room. It can be so very loud. I can't even describe to you how great it is but it is so very loud. How would you feel about your husbands band practicing in your living room??

Well I have raised two boys so yes I have encountered the whole shin dig! LOL My solution was going to my friends house until they finished! LOL Although I did enjoy listening to them but the loudness got the better of me at times and I made myself scarce! One played the electric guitar and the other played drums so I know where you are coming from.

You are kidding I didn't think that anyone could possibly relate to this. Now I know how to combat it as well. THANK YOU!!! LOL

I am wishing you good luck on the matter, I will go crazy with a band practicing in here, too small of a home for that.

Oh believe me if we had a garage that's where they would be. But we don't have one. I am however thinking of doing over a room that is for storage right now so they can set up down there and not have to tear down every practice. I have to paint, paper and put in a light fixture though. So far I have the light fixture!! That's as far as I have gotten. LOL I think I will paint this winter. There is even a door to the outside for them to come in through. HMMM this is sounding better and better by the minute.

Thanks. I hope we can get that room done for them soon. Hopefully I won't be deaf by then. LOL

Not really in my living room but in my tita's living room.My cousins used to have a band when they were younger. A heavy metal band.. so you can just imagine how noisy that can get. They start practice as early as 9am! It wakes the whole household up. My aunt and uncle supported their kids and enjoyed the fact that they practiced at home and not some place else.

Ok well I support my husband and his band interest but I would NOT be impressed with him practicing at 9am!! LOL Mind you they were here past 9pm last night. So it can get a little bit on the nerves when the guys don't know well enough to go home!!! LOL

I have to say that I have never had band practice in my living room. I think it would be fun to listen to though. I have had wrestling practice in my basement though. My son and his friends are always in the basement practicing and training for wrestling. We have 2 huge wrestling mats in our basement and padded walls, so it is perfect for them to come and practice here.

They are all very careful. They dont get hurt anymore than they do when they are wrestling with their competitors at school. I think that since they are all friends they are easier on each other. It is mostly then trying to perfect their techniques. It is nice that they are here most of the time so I can keep an eye on them.

Yes it's good you get to know exactly where he is and what he is doing. Even if it probably can get a little loud sometimes. LOL

It's funny because our son was not the one to do this at all. He had his own bass guitar when he lived at home as well but he just liked to play alone. It is my husband, his Dad, who plays HIS bass guitar in a band in the living room. Talk about role reversal.

oh i see, well if you cant beat them, join them, so just enjoy the sound so that it wont be noise anymore, turning the volume down will only ruin the practice, so rock on dudes ;)

This is unfortunately the only real room in the house for it. At least the neighbours don't mind because we live in a brick house that we own and it keeps the noise inside quite well.

Been there, done that, know that...Yes, My Dad and his band practiced in our livingroom a couple times a week when I was growing up. Neighbors from all around our house would come over to leason to the band. Some would even sit outside there house to leason. It was fun, those are day I miss. Now my parents built a recording studio behind the house. So now they go out there to practice...But they still have a big bang blow out for forth of july right at home in the yard...

That is great!! I am glad that our daughter will think back on this with fond memories and that listening to her Dad and his band mates will bring back really good memories to her.

I never had a band practice in my living room but I did have my stepson's band practice in my garage and it was horrible. I would come home from work and the whole house would be shaking from the noise. The neighbors were great about it but after a long day at work and having two kids under the age of 3 in the house it wasn't the best thing. I love music and I enjoy it played loud but I just couldn't get into his heavy medal scream music. Give me some good rock and I would be happy.
