Do you think passion and job can go together?

Most people are not doing what they like in their day job. There are few people who are doing that, but not many. However, when you read about motivational books, nearly 99% of them will tell you to pursue your passions in life, your true calling in life. The problem is, we are so tired after our day job and also family/friends that we might not even have the time to look at our passion. When we look back at our childhood, the passionate boy/girl is no longer there. We need to keep our day job to survive but if we don't go for our passion, we'll feel empty. What do you think? Do you think those 2 can go together? I personally feel they can, but it's not easy. Furthermore, once you change your passion into your day job, it might no longer be your passion. :)

So far as I am concerned, more than 80% of people don't like their jobs. But they have to do it anyway. If you are lucky enough to find your love job, it will be a great fortune somehow! This is what life goes!

You are in control of your life. If you know you're not happy and you don't like your jobs, shouldn't it be the time to make a change?

A model once said..."if you love your job and having fun then you don't feel like your working at all". You may be doing a different job than what you are passionate about but their are a lot of ways that you can do it or have it. All it takes is just a little patience and perseverance. Even if at the end of the day you feel tired no matter how tired you maybe if you really love what you are doing you will be able to do what you are passionate about. Take a friend of mine as an example, he is passionate about the environment and he's an architect. Most of the time he's pretty burned out of exhaustion but he still finds a way to do what he is passionate about...the environment. He may not be able to go through forests, mountains, or trips for environmentalist but he helps online. He supports a website which helps the environment be taken cared of. So you see it's just a matter of putting your heart to where it belongs and still keep the job that you so badly need.

That's very true of what you said. A balance life is one which keeps your day job (to survive) and one which helps you to do your stuff (more meaningful life).

For many it may not go together ! I do agree maximum number of people are doing jobs which are not really liked by them or not of their area of interest. These people are doing such jobs ust to make money to make both the ends to meet ! I know many people who are doing odd jobs and they are ctually having excellence in some other fields. Few Examples I can quote, aman working as an ordinary poen in Bank is a national Championship in Chess. One of the famous Indian Movie director used to work as a Clerk in India Railways ! Few omy Vet collegues are good stage artists and they do paerticipate on the stage to fulfill their wish ! These are the examples about whom I know in person. If I go by News agencies many Bollywood stars oftoday were most ordinary people who were working some where at small places where they were hardly getting anything to make their both ends to meet. They were practically hand to mouth.Khali one of the current WWF wrestler is from India and he is still in Punjab Police. These examples if we see then tey imply ifwe got inclination then we can persue the profession of our liking. But then this requires a lot of challenges to encounter and lot of sacrifices too! Luckily I am a person who got the job where I can flfil my passion too! I am a Stud Vet and I regularly deal with horses. I treat and breed expensive horses meant for race.I have been a keen animal lover right from my childhood and I always liked to be with animals and today I am really happy. Perhaps because of my passion towards animals , I think I am most of the times more successfulin getting the results from my horses than othe counterparts of mine! I differ here with you that if you makeyour passion into your job then it reamains no passion there after! I think it goesother way! I become more passionate and accept the problems encountered as a challemge and try to solve them by hook or crook! Well this may change from individualto individuaal how one looks at the things! Thanks! It was a nice topic of discussion ! I enjoyed participation!

It depends on individuals i think. There are people who prefer to do their passionate things at their own timing. For example, if you are a comic artist (I used to inspire to become one although my drawing sucks), you need to draw weekly in order to survive and you are constantly under pressure from the publishers. The thing with everything creative is that it's not easy to produce a work just because you need to produce. In the end, some of the comic artists lost their passion in drawing due to their demanding job.

I think passion and job can't go together. Maybe it's kinda negative, but try to think about that, if something you used to have passion became your job, you have to deal with it everyday, coming with countless trouble, it's no longer your passion.

What about doing it as freelance? A full time freelancer? You still earn, and you don't need to do it everyday, provided you can survive.

i think make what you like become your job,it's so disgusted, and you will feel very unhappy anymore when you do it,it is so antinomy.

There are people who don't feel disgusted even after converting their passions to full time jobs.
