Have you ever looked for a lost item that wasn't lost at all

Yesterday I was looking for a pencil I normally kept in my handbag...I emptied the bag and couldn't find the pencil, so I thought maybe I lost in somewhere during one of those moments I opened the handbag to remove my purse and it just rolled out. Surprise of all surprise, today I am in my handbag again reaching for my address book and what should I chance to pull out? Yes you guess it - my yellow pencil! It was right in the handbag but for some reason I just couldn't find it yesterday. Has this ever happen to you? Have you ever thought you lost something, but it was right where you last place it, but for some strange reason you couldn't find it when you need it? Do share!

hi gtdonna! yes. that happens to me a lot of times. i wouldn't find something on its usual place and i would start on "where is it? where is it? i just put it in here!" blah blah blah. and then after looking carefully i would find it. and that would always get an answer from my mom, or cousin or anyone who can hear me, they would say "look first with your eyes and not with your mouth". sometimes, if i can't see it but another person can see it and would point it for me they would say "its right in front of you and ready to bite you". sometimes even if i looked carefully i still wouldn't find it. after a while, after i have given up searching, it would instantly appear as if it was playing hide and seek with me. ^__^;;

I do think it is playing hide and seek...cause one minute it is not there and the next it magically appears

Story of my life. It's crazy. I'll drop something on the carpet and look for about thirty minutes and won't be able to find it. The whole time I'll be thinking, "How could it have gone that far? I dropped it right under me!"

OH how many times I've searched for those blasted keys just to realize they are already in my hand! Or the purse, hanging over my shoulder. If getting old means that it gets worse than this... I'm done. I don't want to search anymore!

Lol, well they say you don't get older, you get better, but sure not when you think you lost something and looking for it when it is right in front of you all along

I did, and lots of times. But my worst experience was when I "lost" my eyeglasses, and I was supposed to be in school, doing work and teaching, and I could not do any close eye work without my glasses. But always, they are not really lost. Sometimes, I leave them at home, misplace them, or "lost" them inside my bag, or in my car, or inside the CR. It's really gross, but I am more careful now. Although I know I'll do it again.

About two months ago, my girlfriend told me disappointedly that she had lost her cellphone card which she had kept for more than 4 years .It took us half a day to look for it nearly everywhere we could think of .But the result was that we determined the card must be taken away by god.Next day ,she asked for another card from China Mobile.Well ,the day before yesterday,when I was helping her sort out her bag ,a small card appear in my eyesight!It was surprisingly her very "lost"card!

She must have had a secret pocket, cause thats where my pencil seemed to have been as well, somewhere in the bag, but just not in front of my eyes
