He's not a thai boxer, he practices Muay Boran, which is an ancient Thai martial art, it has been condensed slightly nowadays and corrupted into what we call Muay Thai today. He also studies Taekwondo, a form of Wushu, Copeira, and probably more than that. Pretty sure his full name is Peruum Jaa Yerum, not sure but I think that's what it is.

Tony Jaa is a killer specimin of Martial Arts, but he isn't much of an actor, and I don't think he has the presence that is needed to be successful in American movies. Little known fact, Tony Jaa was Robin Shou's stunt double in the Mortal Kombat movie. That's way before his breathrough hit Ong-Bak.

I beg to differ, did you see his acting in the Protector? When he was crying and searching for his elephant in the animal cage room in the back of Tom Yum Goong? And his raw emotion as he was dealing the punishment on Johnny Nguyen and the other attackers throughout the film? I think he has something that either Jackie Chan or Jet Li ever had. Plus he uses no strings or pulleys for his movements and they are all so seamlessly done. He's for sure on of my heroes.
