have you ever tried camping outdoors? where did you go and what did you do? i have only tried camping outdoors when i was in highschool. i was part of the girls scouts then and we had an overnight camping. but it was only inside the school grounds. we pitched our tents in the big field (used for playing soccer and running sports) that the school has and that was it. no "near-nature" experience or anything. how about you?

I love camping and wish plan to do more of it this coming summer(need to get through winter in the snowbelt first lol). My first camping experience was spending long weekends on a family owned houseboat when I was a youngster. Those long weekends turned into sometimes a 2 week trip where it was water, water everywhere and I loved it. We, as kids, would also camp out in the backyard. Those were the days. Now, I long for the same experiences with my kids and although we have camped on a few occassions, they are just now getting to the age where it's fun and they can help set up camp. Once you set up camp, it is so relaxing. No phone, no computer, no tv...no electricity or toilets if you're really camping lol. It really is back to basics and great fun.

sometimes, having no phone and computer around is truly relaxing. no emails or phone calls to bother you. lol

I love camping, back in 2006 I went up to Scotland in the UK for four weeks on my own with my car, tent and mountain bike and I camped beneath the stars it was a wonderful experience/adventure, being close to nature, although I hated the damn insects. I did miss my home comforts like electricity, hot meals and the computer, but it makes you appreciate them even more. It was quite cheap to pitch a camp in the nominated camping sites which I travelled to as I toured Scotland. All that fresh air and camping under the stars and having the freedom to do as I pleased.

I have been camping one time and it was not a very happy experience when I was in the fifth grade I was in the boy scouts, and they had a camping trip so me,my mother and father went camping one weekend in January,I do not know why it was in January but that was crazy, well we were asleep in our tent, and I woke up,and went out side to use the bathroom, and when I came back in apparently I got under my sleeping bag instead of in my sleeping bag,so I was freezing, and my mom was not in the tent,so I did not want to wake my father up,he woke up to me shivering though and he saw I was under my sleeping bag,and he told me my mom was sleeping in the truck, and we never went camping again.

Camping was the unfulfilled activity of my high school. My first camping was in my first year college. That was for our Recreational Activities class. We climbed a very steep road and I was dying because of tiredness. But when we reached the top, it was okay. We can see the city view from up there. There were getting-to-know-you parts and eating and everything else. That was memorable because my tent-mates were experiencing food crisis because the dogs and chickens just messed up our food. Anyways, I really had fun. It was so cold.

Hi bubblyapple. I went camping with my Mom and Dad once. We went to Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and up into Nova Scotia. We had a great time. It was funny tho, it rained for awhile and we sat in out tent and watch people run to their cars from their tents. It was funny to watch the things they would put over their heads to not get wet. Those were fun times I had with my parents and I miss them alot. That was the only time I camped in a tent. I also camped in a camper a couple of times. That was fun too.

I love camping, but have not had the opportunity to do so since my oldest was born, eleven years ago. Before that, I could be found camped out by a lake or river, or even in the middle of the woods every summer. I remember feeling so peaceful being in the middle of nature like that. The closest I get anymore is walking through the woods or by the river. I no longer camp out.

Twice in my life I have had to go camping, one time was with school and the other was on a team building exercise when I started work. Both times I hated it, I think it was the worst thing that I have ever had to do in my entire life. If I never see the inside of a tent again I will be a happy bunny!

i think camping outside is really fun. ive been camping at the beach and ive been camping in the woods. we always go in tents because we feel if your gonna do it to do it all the way. we always have a fire and smores. and of course lots of blankets and bug spray especially in the woods at night. we've never had to go without the bathroom though we usually go to a camp site and they have bathrooms and stuff. its really fun to go camping in real woods you would probably like it if you liked it when you were in school.
