would you wear clothes that are out-of-fashion?

i am not the fashion-conscious type. so i do wear clothes that are not "in" as long as it is comfortable. however, if a piece of clothing is trendy and i look good wearing it, why not? but i don't usually go out of my way to check or ask others if my clothes inventory is out-of-date. besides, i don't go out much so fashionable clothes would be useless to have. what about you? would you wear a piece of clothing even if it is outmoded?

I usually wear whatever I want because I think fashion is about how you feel. As long as what you're wearing gives you confidence you are going to look like the outfit works for you.

I always do that... since i cannot afford to update my clothing everytime there is a new trend... so i tend to wear those that are no longer considered as trendy... but evertime i do that... i just keep in mind that i am wearing vintage clothing... and that usually makes a lot of difference in how i carry my clothes...

I am still wearing sweaters and shirts from over 5 years ago. Things that are trendy and their time has passed, like the weird faded and ripped jeans from the 80's, well no, there's no way I'm going to wear those.

I would. But I have to make it sure first that it would look good on me. That's one of the important things I consider wearing any clothes. Whether its expensive or not, new or old, in or out of fashion really doesn't matter at all. As long as it looks good when you wear these out of fashion clothes, then why not!

I personally think fashion is not everything and I do not see why so many people stress about buying new clothes just because they are in style or because they are the new fashion,I think it is kind of pointless, and a waste of money that could be used on other important things like food and gas,and I think that when it comes to clothes it should be more important that you like the clothes, and that they are comfortable, and I would wear clothes that are out of fashion if they are comfortable to me and I like them.

i agree with you. i would rather spend it on food than clothes. i love food! in fact, i'm getting hungry, as it is almost lunchtime here and our food is still not cooked

I do all the time, but like u say, the key is to buy clothes that are not stylish so to speak! I buy plain pieces with maybe a soft texture design, maybe some sort of stripes or plain period! I'm not into logos, fancy designs, the newest name brands and all of the overpriced mess! Honestly, half those clothes are ugly and made for kids anyway! I still wear stuff from 1998, but u wouldn't know it:) Taripre$

i sure hope i wouldn't but you're right. most clothes today are made for teens, so it wouldn't look right on us if we insisted on wearing it

Actually, u wouldn't know it; case in point, the shirt in my profile pic, I bought that in '98! Paid $60 for it, bought it for a Hip Hop showcase I performed in! Rarely wear it, my female friend"s" don't like it too much, it's netted n I guess they don't want me showing off in public... Taripre$

It really does not matter to me. As long as they are in tact, make me feel good, so what? I guess I's breaking the record if I told you I have two shirts which are more than ten years old. I wear them at home, and don't have the heart to get rid of them. Funny isn't it?

i have a shirt from eight years ago. dang! i didn't beat your record! yeah. the longer clothes last, the more are their sentimental value to us. even if the shirt has holes on the back and the front, we still keep it. i'm actually more comfortable wearing old clothes than new ones. the new ones feel itchy to me

Yes of course. I wear what it comfortable and what I like and I do not care if the shops think it is in fashion or not. Hang on to something long enough and fashion will catch up with me. If I like the clothes and they good on me I do not care if it is in fashion or not. I think most fashion is silly and I long for the day when my tastes come back into fashion.

I have no choice but to wear out of fashion clothing as I just cannot afford to be up to date with fashion at all! I also like to be comfortable in clothes and sometimes the fashions are not comfortable to be wearing all the time! I can mainly be found in jeans and jumpers!

Well it depends. I like to wear nice clothes. But I don't spend alot of monney though. I always check clothes which are on sales. Like a cute t shirt for 30$ would be 10-8$ if i am willing to wait for 2-3 weeks. I believe it's important to have a good appearance wherever you go. Either way when it's a christmas party, going to school, etc. Sometimes, I would find it embarassing to be with my uncle. He wears the same pair of jeans for 10 years. I have nothing against that. But at every christmas party, he would wear the same thing. I wouldn't blame him if it was a monney issue but come on...he has a high salary. Anyway, I believe that people should buy whatever makes them happy. For me, it's material and food. My mom likes jewelries and clothes, uncle likes car and electronic, grandma likes spending it on her religion. But at least all of us donate monney to an organization. So I dont have fashion only in mind. We give monney to hospitals and I give 8$ a month for an AID organization. The same goes to clothes. When I don't like it anymore or when it doesn't fit me, I donate it. So nothing goes really to waste. :)

that's good that you don't just let your clothes be stocked in your closet. buying clothes would then have a purpose even after you are tired of using it. so i guess you being particular on clothes is okay.

Sure why not =) I go for my walks and hikes in what ever is most comfy . I have had a sore foot once and even did the whole socks with sandals LOL. If i have to go somewhere real nice i wanna look my best , but usually i will will dress in whatever i think looks nice , ya know . I have seen so much things that are called fashion items that i think look silly , or i go oh my how could someone wear that .

same here. fashion is, after all, a matter of who looks at them. what's fashionable for others might look ridiculous for some.

For men it hardly matters as fashions hardly change. The same old trouser and shirt. yes probably cheques will replace stripes and stripes will replace plain shirts. For women it is a different matter. They have so many changes takign place every day that theyget out dated much faster. My wife and daughters woudl not like to get caught in somethign which is out dated. When I go shopping with them and find somethign lookin greally nice and ask them to buy it, they respond with a sneer and say "Oh that is out of data Papa. I can't possibly wear that." I have stopped going shopping clothes with them. i can't understand their fashion.

I would not wear out of clothes that is out of date mainly because I am highly into fashion. I attend school for this subject currently. There are so many new trends and styles that are designed every three months or so. If your clothes are out of date that makes you a lagger... well laggers are the last to adopt the latest style into their wardrobe but all in all I would consider it all as a part of lagging. I think that out of date clothing shold be kept because as we all know history repeats itself so therefore fashion does the same. So please put away the ut of date clothing and start keeping up with the latest trends! :)

wow. so resident fashionista here huh? well, as i said, just as long as the clothing is comfy, whether its trendy or not, i'd wear it. comfort is my main criteria for wearing clothes. if they are trendy but does not make me comfortable, then i think i'd stick with my good 'ol clothes.

hi kaye! i usually wear clothes that on trend. i like being trendy. but i also wear out-of-fashion clothes. if i don't wear my out-of-fashion clothes then what would i do with them? they'd die away inside my closet and its not being practical. i have clothes that are already a few years old, like a year or two and i still wear them. they still look good without any damages and its a waste if i don't wear them. i like looking good and it only takes an accessory or two to hide the fact that the blouse or pants is old. ^__~

I might. It depends; remember Burberry scarves a few weeks ago? I won't wear that now. I guess you'll have to define "outdated". As in go-go boots? Or neckties? (Avril Lavigne in 2000)

the second i wear a piece of clothing that is out of fashion, it instantly becomes fashionable again!!! lol! go ask the fashion police!!! seriously, i don't mind wearing something that isn't fashionable. i put premium in comfort and functionality. my wardrobe is made up of basic pieces like shirts and jeans. like i said, i don't set trend, i set trip!!! cheers!!!

Well for me. its not like i fall into the fashion category or anything like that. Its like i wear clothes which i feel i am looking good in and i know i am very comfortable in them, thats another thing that whatever i wear is already in fashion but then its not that new or that old. I wear only basic common clothes, which look very good on me. Well anyways nice discusison happy mylotting :P

i think that the trend o fashion sometimes does not fit me well.sometimes the styles of colthes which i like are out-of-date.But who cares? I only choose the best ones which suit me not for who likes best nowadays.Sometimes i also buy comfortable clothes which their designs can be out-of-fashion to some extents. For me, clothes is not the most complicated thing which i have to choose carefully,so i don't care whether the chlothes i choose is in fashion or not.
