I've watched a show that tackled countries in Asia that are brand Concious for clothing.Philippines is included in the list for people are concious on brands of clothes that we are using.I think the reason for we are included in the list is nit for the brand for we are looking on its quality and what can makes you comfortable.

Filipinos want to be "in". We think we look cool when we wear branded clothes which in fact is we can still look good even without brands. Most people just show off. Quality and comfort can also be found with clothes that have no brand.

I didn't know this show. Some of my friends buy branded clothes because it is the popular and they wanna ride on the others, or "pasosyal". My mom always buy branded clothes, bag , shoes, etc. She always consider the brand of clothes she is buying. That is because she is conscious of the quality. She always say that if she buy unbranded and cheap things, it is easily broken and is not comfortable. It is better to buy the expensive, though it is expensive it last long and very comfortable.

No I really think that brands matter to us. WHich is why there are many fake designer good here and many factory overruns. The retail industry in the Philippines is really big compared to other countries. If you look at the Pinoy celebrities and fashionistas, everyone's carrying an LV, coach, or Gucci bag.

Hi I think that in a way that's true. Because whenever new and famous brands go up, many people buy it. Take a look at what Havaianas did to us, it was introduced a few years back I think and now I see it everywhere, people started to use slippers as a fashion statement. Then Crocs went out, now I see many Croc users everywhere. Maybe because you become more "sosyal" when you use branded items and of course some Filipinos would want to feel that one is better because she or he is able to use branded products. Well I believe not all, because it's true these brands are more comfortable to use, and of course in every brand you really get what you pay for.

I don't know this show, but the result is quite puzzling.with flea markets and secondhand (ukay-ukay) sprouting everywhere,I thought Filipinos are patronizing them more.guess I was wrong.these brands use known celebrities to endorse their clothes.they know that these'll help influence a Filipino's mindset of buying clothes.as for me,it's not really the brand or the store where it was bought.it's all about comfort and fit.

Hi dhong1970! Maybe we are also so much influence by America which have occupied and stayed with us for so many years. But I definitely agree with you, whenever I buy something I'll always look for quality clothes. Though I could not afford to buy it in it's regular prices, I just wait for the opportune time particularly whenever there are mall sales. The quality of these branded clothes particularly the fabrics have made it differ from some of the locally made clothes.

I have watched that too. It was in the news a few days ago and I couldn't disagree with it. I guess most of us Filipinos are brand conscious, including me. I admit it. But I buy my stuffs and make sure that it's worth spending (a quality product that would last, and comfortable to wear). I have pants and shirts that I'm still wearing today, in good condition which i bought 5 years ago. Some of us might disagree with these findings but it's what the survey says.

Yes I believe Filipinos are really brand conscious. I am one of them. Anyway many if not all of the branded ones are really high quality and comfortable to use aside of course from the fact that we of course look classy and fashionable if we wear branded ones.

Oh yes I think we Filipinos are brand conscious, but I don't think the main reason is of quality but rather it can be traced back to our history, colonial mentality that is, if you will notice that a lot of branded items here are of made in other country, it is very common trait of a Filipino to believed what is imported is better.
