I always wanted to go to Switzerland as I have seen photographs in postcards and on tv. Can anyone tell me what it is like in Switzerland - is it beautiful as imagine it to be? What kind of food are there and what are the things to see in the country? Thanks.

I went to Switzerland, Austria and Southern Germany one winter when I was younger. It was really cold and snowy. I met lots of Australians traveling in their summer holiday because it was January. I stayed in youth hostels and they were such warm as well as comfortable places. Swiss cities are very pretty with attractive looking architecture. The countryside is fresh and green, although it was white with snow when I was there. French, German and Italian are languages spoken in different regions of Switzerland. The prices were really high and I couldn't afford to spend many days there. It has some very scenic railway lines and it would be a good idea to buy a rail pass. I can't remember what the food was like other than expensive. I suggest you go to Geneva, Lucerne, Zurich and one of the lakes. Happy traveling.
