I wish that I could go for a short holiday abroad during Christmas but I do not afford it. If you had the time and money which places would you visit during Christmas? © ronaldinu 2008

I would love to go to a country where a White Christmas is guaranteed! Here in the UK we haven't had a proper White Christmas since the 70s and it makes a real, true Christmas to wake up Christmas morning everywhere covered in a white blanket! But Christmas is for families and it wouldn't be the same if I went away on my own to a strange company and spend Christmas alone. I would love to see a White Christmas again in my lifetime

wolfie if you really want to see a White Christmas with lots 'of cold freezing snow, just go to South Dakota, the state where I was born, as they always have it in winter, tons of the stuff, try the black hills with snow on all the gorgeous black spruce and pine trees.South Dakota is in the US by the way. me I had all the white christmases I could stand, thats why i live in Ca lol lol lol lol.

Too much of a good thing eh? I don't usually like snow except on Christmas Day! So it would be a fleeting visit me thinks, after a few days I'd be sick of it LOL!

I'd go some place warm, the South Pacific or such. It's pretty cold and wet here at that time of year. But I love being with family.

I'd definitely want to be with my family who live in Indonesia (now I live in Finland with my Finnish husband). I miss them SO MUCH!!! But then again, if I had the money, maybe it's better to bring THEM to Finland so that they can experience white Christmas. That'd be SO MUCH FUN! ;-D

Travelling and visiting places, see different culture and sights, taste the local foods is a very nice experience. My family had our early Christmas vacation last year in Hong Kong. We had a great time visiting the Ocean Park as well as the Hong Kong Disneyland. We experienced riding the cable cars in the Ocean Park, see the Symphony of Lights and Avenue of Stars, and did some shopping in their night market. This coming December, we plan to go to Kuala Lumpur and see the Petronas Twin Towers and experience being on top (at the Skybridge) as well as KL Tower. I would also want my family to see the Batu caves and experience shopping the famous China town along Petaling St. I've been to these places last month but I guess there are still a lot of beautiful places in KL where I could take my family. I'm looking forward to this trip and let my family taste the local foods (I guess most of them are spicy) and taste the famous white coffee of Ipoh.

I have had Christmas overseas twice in my life and they have been great. I had the first on my trip around the world in Australia when I was 20 years old. I swam in the ocean on Christmas Day. I had the second on my trip to New Zealand when I was 30 years old. I swam with dolphins in the Bay of the Islands on Christmas Day. Both of those trips were long and for the first I had departed in February and was away longer than one year. For the second I departed in November. There is no way I could afford to depart in mid December and return in early January. I have the time available but not the money because fares are so high at Christmas time. If I did have the money to do so I would visit the northern trip of South America and Central America. I would fly London to Miami to Cartagena to San Andres Island to Providence Island to Panama. Then I would travel overland to Guatemala City. Next I would fly via Miami to London. On that trip the highlight would be seeing Cartagena de Indies in Colombia. Happy traveling.

No, not during Christmas season! I prefer to be home during Christmas season because we are having family reunion. It is the most awaited time because this is the only time we could see all relatives again. It's one day of celebrating togetherness again. I love the Christmas season here in my country. I think no other place celebrate Christmas the way we do. (No offense meant to others!) But the colorful and meaningful celebration here should never be missed so I never travel during Christmas season. Reset it for some other days!

Hi ya ronaldinu I like to spend Christmas at home or at my mother's home so I don't like to travel much over Christmas. This year I shall be at home and my mother will be at her mother's house. Then I shall go down to my mothers with my boys for the new year. She only lives 2 hours drive away.

Me and my family have never been the type to travel at Christmas time especially since all of our family lives near us,and we always get together with both my mother and my fathers side of the family on Christmas Eve to eat and exchange presents which is always fun,but if me and my fiance, and my parents could travel at Christmas I would love for us to go to Texas because I have always wanted to go to Texas anyway to see the Texas Ranger Hall Of Fame, and plus it would be nice to see if it snows in Texas for Christmas.

A friend of mine has decided to go on a cruise with her husband over Christmas, to get away from the usual family hassles. I think Christmas has become quite stressful these days - once the children have grown up, have their own partners and children and there are arguments about where to hold it, etc., it all becomes so complicated. We won't be going away - but I wish we were!
