liverpool beat chelsea, thanks to a deflected shot from xavi alonso. now they are 3 points clear of chelsea and 8 points clear of man u. they are in a good position and fighting hard for the title. can they end the 18 year wait for a premiership title this year? i sure hope they do and end the agony of their fans...what do you think. can they do it? if not, who do you think will win?

Liverpool has had a fantastic result :) Alonso's shot was a trifle lucky, but overall Liverpool were the better side on the day. Alonso hit the post with Cech completely beaten and Gerrard went real close. Cole did have a chance to salvage a point, but sliced wide. After a long time Liverpool have gone on top of the standings. With victories over Man U and Chelsea, this time around Liverpool are real title contenders. Cheers! Ram

yes. this time liverpool is in for a shout at their title which sadly in so many season previously, they were already out of sight by Jan. This time hopefully they are still there in Jan and take it one at a time.

But, I think the real test for Liverpool is now, when they are ahead of the rest. There were times under Houllier when they would make it to top and then lose steam to finish third or fourth at the end of the year. Cheers! Ram

I think this was the first time Chelsea had lost at home since 2004, so quite an achievement... I'm not sure who will win the title, but who would have thought Hull would be in with a chance...

Hull unfortunatly met their match on wednesday night getting beat by Chelsea for Hull was no disgrace but they did make some big errors.Nevertheless I wish them luck in the premiership.

yes. hull is the surprise package and they started off well but they are likely to slip down the table as they do not have depth or quality players. however, their good start ensure that they will not be relegated

haha. u are right, hull is lying in an unfamiliar territory at the moment in 3rd. chelsea lost their 1st home game in 4yr and 8 months. this season gonna be exciting. arsenal is also within 4 points and man u within 5 if they win their game in hand.

It's XABI. This now is Liverpool's best start to a season in 12 year's so let's hope that they can keep it up and go on to win the premiership.

With this win against Chelsea and that too at their home ground is really fascinating. Now, Liverpool are 3 points clear of Chelsea and 4 points clear of Arsenal. This is the best start that Liverpool had in the last few seasons. If this run of good form continues, it is sure to win the EPL. The most important think that it has to keep in mind is that it should not become complacent. And the fitness level of players is equally important.

fitness and team depth are important to ensure that they can last all the way and in all competitions. this year they have the team depth and team spirit. their comeback in so many games show their character. this is good and gives them the confidence. now is the time to proog themselves and the desire to win must be strong.
