What is your opinion on cloth diapers? I recently started using them and I think they are great. It is a little difficult to fold and pin at first but once you get the hang of it its fine. It is a great way to save money and help the environment. I do still use disposable diapers at night and when we got out. But when we are at home i use the cloths. What about you? DO you or have you ever used cloth diapers?

I don't have kids, but my mom told me she used cloth diapers when my sister and i were born. Not really because she preferred them, but because she couldn't afford the ones in stores. If I did use them I'd buy plenty of bleach. LOL I was just reminded the other day reading a magazine, that unless bleach is used in the washer, not all the germs will die. Some of the germs will just be redistributed. : ) Even when hot water is used.

When I was a baby my mom used cloth. When I had my daughter I used the disposable. I am about to have my second(and last) baby. I will use disposable again. That being said I know cloth is better for the environment. But we use green bags, recycle everything we can (even clothing)ec0-bulbs, rechargeable batteries etc. So I am hoping this can be my one forgivable planetary sin. I just cannot do cloth.

You are right, they are much better for the environment. Saying that, I absolutely hate using them! I run a daycare and had one child who came in cloth diapers. They were so gross!! I finally went out and bought disposable diapers for this child. I would send one home each night and the mom would put it on her before she came here. It was worth it to me to buy the diapers this child used here rather than having the hassel of cloth.

I'm so old that when I started having kids cloth diapers were the only option. By the time my last one was born the disposable ones were available and I tried using them. OH my poor baby's bottom! One change and she was red as a beet! I went back to cloth diapers except when her big sisters would take her to town with them, and then they checked her very often to make sure a wet diaper didn't stay on her.

llo there, i never ever used the cloth diaper, when i moved here in Uk my mother in-law gave me a pack of cloth diaper but i nevre used it. I find disposable diaper is much easier to wear my baby coz he keeps moving and moving and more safe. But also i let his buttom to have a fresh air. When i was a baby my mother use the clothe diaper to me until i grow up and same with my siblings too. But you will going to wash them most of the time, everyday you going to do your laundry, but it helps you to save from expensive disposable diaper.Happy posting.

We use them at home on our 6 month old. My mother and mother in law hate using cloth diapers, so when our DD goes to their house, they are more than welcome to use the disposable kind. Our daycare that we use is kind enough to offer both types of diapers so when we enrolled her there, we were glad that we didn't have to buy disposable diapers for the daycare and then cloth diapers at home. So she's cloth diapered all the time unles she's at my MIL's house or my parents' house, and then she usually comes home in disposable diapers. But that's their money to spend, and if they want to use regular diapers, that's their concern, but we do not use them at our house. They pollute the environment too much and cause unnecessary landfill waste.

my mom used cloth diapers when we were infants. i dont use them to my daughter as i dont really like to wash them after i gave birth. i used pampers but found out that it's not really good as it hurt my baby's legs and it irritate the skin as it's plastic. I use drypers diaper coz they are so absorbent and they fit well in infants. skin can breathe in it too. it's like a cloth like type.
