I have a dog and she is not sleeping well. Whenever I see her, she is just lying down but not actually sleeping I guess. Is that affect a dog in any way? Why exactly the dog is behaving like this? Usually I see dogs to be sleeping everytime. But happen in my case? Why is my dog isn't sleeping well? And what can I do to make it sleep? All your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I think one thing you need ot remember is that dogs aren't like ppl....They will sleep when they are tired AND they dont generally go into a major deep sleep like we do....The only way I would be concerned is if she is NOT eating and seems to be sick..but if she is in good spirits when awake and is eating properly, pooping etc etc then I really wouldnt worry about it..

The average adult dog sleeps up to 20 hours a day. Puppies and elderly dogs often sleep even longer.

Well, I guess I won't worry about my adult pitmix then. She sleeps a lot. But she's also 10 years old. So, I think that she deserves to sleep when she wants to.

I would second what Ravenlady said. Dogs simply don't sleep like people do. When your dog is awake, and you play with him/her, does he/she seem energetic? A young dog should be full of energy when playing. If so, you probably have nothing to worry about.

I'm not sure how long your dog should sleep. What kind of dog is it and how old is it? the older they get, the more they sleep. Puppies need less sleep.

A totally unrelated question (and maybe a pretty stupid one): Are you the REAL Vince McMahon from WWF? That certainly is his picture.
