have you ever think of making a difference in your life?

World of Science and beyond - Life is so mysterious. But we can make a difference with our life. How, that's another question to think about. And When, we can start it now, for tomorrow maybe never.

I wonder many people have make their life worthwhile by being so different to everybody. They made this world a better place to live in. Have you ever thought of someday we will be talking with one another with the use of a computer, much more see each other thru a webcam. Is'nt it amazing. HOw the wonders of science and technology made our life much easier now than before especially our communication. How about flying from place to place thru airplane, such a nice invention. Or the use of the telephone, cell phones and the likes. Man flying to the moon and see the world out there in space. How the ingenuity of man comes with so much blessings. How about you, ever thinking of making a difference to contribute to our planet. I wonder how and I wonder if I am created to fulfill a mission which is very special. Not only to be very famous or to gain wealth but to contribute to this world something people cannot forget. How I wish i can make such a big contribution, but i just don't what, how and where to start.(lol) Have you think about it?

I don't see the modern inventions like most people do. I see then as a curse rather than a blessing. So much of what we have now could and should be a blessing but we use so much of it wrong and wind up effecting others lives in some adverse ways. Man has never had enough common sense to use what he has wisely. Our fantastic ability to communicate with others all over the world is being misused in so many ways. We can share and spread the good but we can and very often share and spread the bad and effect a lot of people. You see things said here on MyLot that can offend people all over the world. We also see harmful information spread that can hurt people. We all need to pay a lot more attention to what we are doing and have more respect for the feelings of others.

hi arkie, what a nice view. You know I still believe that the maker of all this inventions and technologies did not think of using them for bad things, it's just that many people are using these innovations out of their own selfish motives, which makes them exploit things and hurt so many people. But I also believe that if somebody like you, will just take a stand to use all this blessings for the common good of mankind, we can win over them.thanks for your nice response, and hope you will not feel very discouraged with it..

A lot of the new inventions were profit motivated but at the same time the inventors were also thinking of the benefits to mankind. They intended they be used to better mankind. There are very few things on this earth that can't be misused. There is always someone looking for a way to cheat the system. These are the ones that have made a black mark against a lot of our modern day inventions. I enjoy using as many of the modern toys as I can but I try to use them in a way that no one will be hurt. Some of us still care about our fellow man but many don't. The people that use modern ways to hurt others are the ones I am against not the modern ways.

yes it is just so sad that many people still do not know how to use those inventions without hurting innocent people or abusing it's purpose. and i agree with your stand with that.

what are your skills and interests? take one of those aptitude tests to evaluate your skills and interests, and maybe it can gear you toward the right career, whether doctor, work as a volunteer for your community, or write a helpful book to help others have a better life. the list is endless, but you have to know what you can do, what you want to do, and just do it.

hi grace ... i guess most people want their names to be listed in the history book or guiness book , they too wish to obtain a title for themselves, but how many can achieve ... some simple idea for contribution to the world that can be done easily without expecting returns are as follows - feed the birds - feed stray animals - feed fish in the pond - give charity to the poor - plant a tree the above can actually make difference in your own life but if you are looking for inventions, i cant help you cheers

Like you I think about it all the time but don't know what to do or how to start. One thing I decided was not to worry so much about doing the big things because I end up doing nothing. So now I concentrate on helping at least one person each and every day with something that can better their life. It is not always somehting big, most of the time it is helping them find a resource they need, listening to their problems, connecting them with other people who can help them or just giving a kind and encoraging word. One lady the other day told me I made her day because I listened to her and did not hang up on her (I work at a social service agency and yes, there are some people working there who hang up on people asking for help). I do hope to do something bigger one day, but until then I'll keep doing the small stuff.
