Incorporating friends into my vampire story

I have been using the names of friends from the writing forum in my new vampire story. Not that the characters are anything like the real people, but it's cool using real names. Makes the characters more real to me somehow. My friends like seeing their names on there also...lol. The story is coming along rather well. Everyone likes it so far. My son and I made a book cover for it with the help of the forum. When I'm finished with the story I'm going to make it into a book for my brother. He is a big vampire fan. We'll have to see what he thinks of my book. It's cool also because I'm actually making some money off this story because it's on my today.com blog. At least I'm making something!

That's an interesting idea. I would love to have my name added to your story if only my name doesn't suck... lol. What's the link to your blog? I checked your profile but you had no link there, or I didn't catch it. I'd love to read it. I have my own story being written myself, but I'm using the personalities of real people instead of names. I am quite curious about you earning money from the story being posted in a Today.com blog.

It's in my profile. The title of the blog is mylifeandtimes. I'm not supposed to put a link here because I get paid for page views. Today.com pays 1.00 for a 100 word post to your blog each day. So, I've been getting a dollar a day for each entry so far.

Can you use real people and there names without their permission? I think as far as fotos go you have to have a persons permission to print them? :)

They all said it was ok. I asked all but one before adding their name. I'm not making the characters like the people, just using their names as the character names.

I checked your blog, but while you have a link to today.com, you didn't post about it. How does it work? I've bookmarked your story to read when it isn't 4 a.m.!

That's pretty impressive, and I've got stories already finished that maybe I could post? Do you get anything from someone joining under you?

I wrote something back after I signed up with them. I didn't think to put anything about it in my profile. I do have a link where you can sign up from though. Today.com works by letting you do a blog. They will pay you 1.00 for ONE 100 word post each day. You can do more posts if you want, but will only get paid the dollar for the first 1. They do also pay 2.00 for every 1,000 page views also. So it pays to promote your site. It's really easy to do and they really do pay. I've already got one 50.00 payout and am close to the next.

And finally, do they care if the stories are other places? Do they like fiction or non-fiction? other than the 100 words, to they like to give assignments like other writing places?

That is a cool idea, using your friends' names, provided they give permission for that. What fun! Congrats on earning some money on your vampire story. It's nice to get those little income streams flowing in. Good luck with that.

LOL, ok count. I'm sure you'll be able to read it whenever I get it done. I looked today and I'm over 2,000 words on the story already. I couldn't tell doing it in segments like I am.

Thant is very interesting, and congratulations on your successful article. I guess we hardly ever cross paths, I was not aware of this story. I would like to see the finish book cover you and your son created. Good work on behalf of the both of you. I know your son is proud. I hope it isn't to scary?

Nah, it's not scary. I guess it should be, huh? lol There is more to come though. I think it's coming along fine so far. The book cover is up on the Accentuate Writers forum in the critique section. If you have signed up there you can see it. We've almost got it right now.
