I use cable for my home. Overall, I'm satisfied with the reception. It's the rediculous prices I don't like. The cable company should be very careful of what they're getting themselves into. As soon as the satellite company make it easier to receive satellite, I'm switching!

I would switch to satellite too..if there was a remedy for the bad weather..as yet I have seen no remedies for that:)+

unless you feel comfortable jumping on your roof or they offer to put your dish lower..satellite is always a risk..especially in the stormy weather..I think with all the money they make they should try to remedy the reception problems they get with the bad weather;)+

We have cable but the service here is pretty bad. But with it being a small town it is the only cable service we can get with internet too.

sorry to hear that your cable provider offers poor service; perhaps, you can ask them to improve the signal to your house?+

I have cable. Satelite is good too, but in snowy days ice stick to it. w haveto get up to roof in -25 and shake the ice off. specially at night.other than that satelite has more options than cable.

I agree. you get more channels for your money with satellite..but my question always is what about support..do they have someone to come out and do repairs if something goes wrong or is it you who have to repair it?+

I have digital cable. I like the digital cable better than satellite because when it rains hard or gets really windy, satellite looses reception and digital cable does not. The only problem I've found with digital cable is is someone has a 2 way phone, it interferes occaisonally. (doesn't happen all the time though)

I have cable in my house and I have channels 1-100 for only $10.07 a month! Cool hah! Well it is suppose to cost $55.00 a month, but they can not shut it off!!!! I pay $10.07 a month for (BASIC), thats only channels 1-22, but when ever they go up the pole to shut the other channels off, they do go off, but as soon as the truck drives away, they all pop on again! They can't figure it out either so they said it is their fault so I can keep paying the $10.07 a month and enjoy the total package since they can not stop them from popping back on again! I love it!!!!!

We've got a dish. It's really good, except for when it's stormy or snowing. Then it usually loses the signal, which is annoying. Last week I had to get on the roof and knock the snow out of the dish because we weren't getting any reception. But we get HD through it, which is nice!

Sorry to hear that..I wonder if dish is able to withstand any of the bad storms..which makes me wonder what is the remedy? Perhaps they should create a small box over it that would hinder the reception;)+
