I grew up in southern Georgia, so hunting was a way of life for us. I love deer meat. I live in Florida now, and hunting in popular here also. I haven't had any luck hunting down here yet, but my friend goes to Georgia every year and brings meat back. He usually gives me some of it if I go over and help cut it up. Hopefully I will get to tag a few of my own this year.

What's up syankee525? I love deer meat, but the last time I had some was over 2 years ago when I lived in arkansas. We cooked it a lot of different ways...,barbecue,fried,grilled-out,boiled and baked, but I like it mostly either grilled-out or barbecue, YUMMY! Every since I moved over 2 years ago, I haven't ate much of nothing but chicken and pork, but now I'm cutting out the pork.

We eat deer meat. Not very often though. My husband hasn't got a deer yet since he has started hunting. But when my dad gets a deer they give us some. I don't think we've ever done it on the grill though. Usually my dad gets the minute steaks and we just fry them up. or they will get hamburger and then make jerky.

Honestly, I only eat a few kinds of meat. Maybe because in my birth origin we don't have such animals. But as an adventurous person they say I am, I would love to try it when given the chance. But for now, the thought of it is okay but if its smells like a donkey or a goat meat, never mind. How often do you eat venison? Among beef, pork and chicken, which has the closest taste? Happy mylotting. Have a great day!

I have had some very good deer meat and some very bad deer meat! It all depends on how it is butchered/stored in the beginning. Some folks know how to do it and others don't! I do enjoy it when it is butchered right and cooked right! What is your favorite way? I would say mine is chopped up and used as in stews and such. Grilled is ok.

I get to prepare and eat deer meat a lot. I have a lot of hunters that come to the farm every year for hunting privileges during deer season. All of them have come here for many, many years, and when they snag a deer they always give me some deer meat after they've processed it. I've never grilled it, but I guess I'll have to try that too. At the end of deer season I usually have quite a bit of deer meat put into the freezer for the winter. It's good meat! My family doesn't mind eating it...I'm just not allowed to tell them if Bambi is in the stew or not lol. Should be a good deer season this year, all my back fields are in corn and they're busy feasting on it in droves! (One would think this was a deer farm as opposed to a crop farm hahaha)

I am gonna answer this without getting into a tizzy over it, since i think hunting deer is wrong..but enough said about that. I dont eat it, someone told me i was having steak i knew it didnt taste like anything i had before, and later found out it was deer, i was livid, i will never eat it again..in fact if i think there is any chance its not a moooo cow, i wont touch it.

I love Venison but my conscience would not allow me to eat it often. especially when i see the Deer in the park playing so sweetly :) not sure if i hit one i would eat it because that would mean that i have to prepare it and not sure I am that much of barbarian to do that. I like my meat but I do not like seeing where it comes from :)

Both of my sons hunt and my oldest one has already tagged 2 this year. One was a doe but the last one was an 8 point buck. He is having it mounted and we are enjoying the meat from it. I have a lot of recipes for venison. I love it!
