How many of you are always in hurry when you grocery shopping?

I am always in a bad mood when we go grocery shopping with my hubby because he would always say, we will not stay long here we must make it fast...it makes me feel grumpy because I will lost my concentration of what I am going to buy even if I have the list of the items I am buying I still forget the rest. Why men can not stay longer and wait? How I wish I can drive and go to the grocery alone and spend the whole day.. hahahaha... I think most women want to look around. I end up not accomplishing things for the day because I felt bad. I have things to pick yet but because we are in hurry I did not get it. Did you experience the same feeling when somebody keeps on bugging you to hurry up because it's time to go home? it's so annoying.

But why can't women stick to the list and get out of the store. I am saying it's not like this is the most important thing you have to do in life. Shopping for groceries is only part of the equation. We still have to carry them home and put them away and cook and do whatever else the day calls us to do. I for one do not think grocery shopping should be an all day event. It's a job, and like most jobs you want to do well but you also can't wait til it's time to go home. What pleasure is there in taking an hour to buy cheese and eggs? I hate going to shop with certain females because they make an ordeal out of every aspect of shopping. Clothes shopping takes long, not grocery shopping. Grab some broccoli, get butter and juice and get out of the store. There is so much more to do. And I don't mean rush, by all means take the necessary time but get it done and move on! Sorry just how I feel about it.

Also a side note. My ex would write a list at home. Four things bread, milk, juice, and eggs (or whatever). We get in the store she is all over the place. Our list of four things would be forgotten and the list would end up costing us fifty dollars because she had to grab more unnecessary things and go over the limit. This is very annoying to men who are trying to otherwise be responsible and budget money for the household. We know what we came in for and we leave with just that. This was the point of writing the list in the first place.

I cook as well, and I am VERY GOOD AT IT!!! I just don't like wasting time. I don't rush though, she was the rusher in the store just picks up everything along the way. I do take my time but I don't waste time, if that makes any sense. I know what I want, what I need and I get in and out. I never go over budget or get anything I didn't need. I don't buy snacks and go straight for my items on my list and I am done.

hahahah I understand your ordeal. Women are like that. My hubby always stick to the list. I am the one who make the list but I am grabbing things not on the list. I understand how men feel when we go over the budget but you should also think that when women cook, we want it to be special and tasty for you men to eat that's why we want the best ingredients that we could find.

my husband tells me not to be in a hurry and its ok for him if we would do shopping in a longer time, but when i do my grocery/shopping with him, im just not comfortable, i could feel that he's bored and tired so i would do our shopping quickly. it would be nice to, sometimes, go shopping and enjoy your time...

That's right!! I feel uncomfortable seeing him waiting, standing and looking at me, even if sometimes he doesn't say anything but I could tell he wants me to move faster. But most of the time he would always remind me to hurry..

Hi Bebs, It happens to me also when we are going to a big mall since most of the time, we are only having our food shopping at ALdi to save money and it's a just a small store where we can roam around every corner! But, when we are in the mall and there are many stuff that will destruct my attention, you know girls..lol! So, hubby will complain that I cannot figure out right away, blah blah blah..lol, but for me I want to roam around and see things before deciding what to get! I will just tell him not to stress me..lol! and will remind him that I need to stay longer since I don't go out much! LOL!

hahahaha that's right!!! we are not going out much, we are the same.. And coming to the store once in a while is like a dream to us.... We will grasp all the opportunity to roam around and look for sale.. I know that... hahahaha,,, sometimes hubby keeps on watching me putting things back and forth, deciding if I buy it or not, and he would ask why I have a hard time deciding? then he would say, I will wait on the car. Sometimes I would say, just go your way and pick me up in 2-3 hours hahahaha. My goodness!! very annoying..

Certainly most women if not all really wanna look around. I love to shop so why would I hurry. Whatever things I wanna buy, I would admit, I am very, very meticulous and most especially with my groceries. I'd read the details of every labels and ingredients of new items I wish to buy. I wanna make sure that I'm not buying those with artificial colorings and flavorings or msg's so when buying new items I have to have enough time. I don't want to hurry and put all items on my basket without first checking the details. So I don't want anyone beside me who'd push me to rush. I hate rushing! I'm happy my hubby also loves to linger around. But he loves to stay in the electrical or hardware section.

hahaha!! my friend, this is where I could say, we are not the same.. , You are very particular of the labels of things you buy while I am not.. I am lazy reading all those small writings on the labels. My hubby does it all the time. He is very particular to the detail of everything like what you did. Me? No way, I just grab the thing as long as the name is the same as what I need hahahaha... sometimes I just realize when we arrived home that I am not getting the right thing. My hubby get his breakfast food cereals and everything... mine is food for dinner... We only eat the same thing at dinner. We have different food for breakfast and lunch. I can not stand with the American food all the time, that is why we get items separately but only one cart. Wow!!! you are very health conscious my friend... which is very good. My hubby is like that.. and I am fed up of all his complains about the ingredients of the items we buy.. haahahaha....

I hate having to hurry up, if we go when it's quiet that's the best, then my boyfriend doesn't mind taking his time and looking around with me, but when it's busy he tries to rush me so we can get away from all the crowds. I get irritated sometimes because then I don't get to look and compare prices. Sometimes the crowded isles bother me ,but I have no problem asking someone to move if they are in front of what I need, I'm usually polite but sometimes there are people that stop to chit chat in the isle and even when you say excuse me they hardly move and inch!

hahahah that is another annoying thing.. when people block your way because they are talking. Very inconsiderate for those who are looking for their stuff. why not find place to talk rather than on the aisle? Anyway, that's it.. I think, most ladies want to linger around when we are in the store.

It depends on the time. If I had plenty of time, I would linger around looking for things I really need and things that fancy me. Most of the time, I'd rather go shop for groceries in a hurry where I have everything I need readily on the list in my head.

My husband really hates to grocery shop most days. The only time he enjoys it is if we are at a specialty place like an organic grocery store. Otherwise he is usually grumpy. He tries to hide it but I am married to him, I can tell. lol He doesn't rush me, but I can tell he is getting anxious and that just makes me rush. I like to take my time as well. I like to look for the bargains and do comparisons. He likes to get in, grab the first things he sees and leave.

hahahaha that's really men's thing. Good he is not telling you to rush? my hubby really ask me how long will I take?.. specially when I go to the dollar store and he will go to walmart.. hahahah I can spend more than an hour in the dollar store without picking up the things that I need to buy.. just looking around, and he would call me and said he is already waiting for a long time in the car.. my goodness!!! it made me rush...

Its not so much my husband that gets annoying but my nephew if he is with me. If my husband goes, he will go to the magazine stand and read magazines while I'm shopping, it doesn't matter to him how long I take, but if my nephew is with me, he's always in a hurry, especially if we're at a place where theres no games or anything for him to play, I just hate taking him with me when I go, he's worse than a man, I guess he's a man in training....lol. He'll keep asking how long are we going to be here, or are you finished yet? its annoying alright...

Because men don't shop, we buy. That's the only difference, I myself like to shop and pinch the tomatoes and juggle the cantelope until I find the one I want. Why does he have to go shopping with you? I didn't go a for a long time but then I started going, that way I could pick out the stuff I wanted to snack on.

Oh!! come on... some men love to shop I know that. My brother really want to shop. Well, we always go together to get groceries because I'm not driving so obviously he is the driver. The only time I can go around is when we go grocery shopping so, I want to spend more time but he is always in a hurry because he wants to do something at home. we always go at night of in late afternoon after his work. But he wants to watch the news, or do some online thing at home that is why he is in a hurry most of the time.

I usually will not go grocery shopping unless I have the time to take and concentrate on what i'm buying. When I rush, I forget so much stuff! And it's so frustrating to go to make a meal and you have missing ingrediants. So I will always just go when I know I can dedicate the time to it. Then I don't feel rushed and forget a ton of stuff.

I do feel annoying if someone keep rushing me to hurry up when I want to enjoy my grocery shopping or look around the things being displayed. But luckily,my boyfriend is someone who likes to shop slowly especially during grocery shopping,he never bugs me to hurry up but instead sometimes I am the one who ask him to be fast in buying things when I am extremely tired after work. Lol. Most of the time,we spend our sweet time at the supermarket, looking around and comparing price between items to get worth buying products. Thus,I did not have much bad experience during grocery shopping. Lol.

Every time i go grocery shopping i feel that i am in a hurry as well because we have a 1 year old son that if he's not napping we need to get in and get out with the groceries as fast as we can. Of course we always miss a few items and then i end up going to the store later in the week anyway. I guess she feels that if we hurry we won't spend as much. I'm not so sure of that.

Oh!! I really hate that.. when we miss items that I need for cooking. the more we spend for the gas if we go back. We go grocery shopping only once a week. So I will wait for another week before i can buy the item I need?

My husband and your husband must be related. I hate it too. I hate being rushed around and moaned at. I can drive and do go alone shopping, but I need him to help me carry a big grocery shop. I love to look around even for the bargins, but he gets me in a state and it usually end up in a fight. I have actually walked out and left him in a shop with a full trolley and went and sat in the car. Men just hate shopping in my opinion. They all do this. Maybe we should book a taxi to collect us.

I really do not have such a problem when we go grocery shopping... my husband is abroad... and my father usually drives us to the grocery... and he does other things while waiting for us... that way he doesn't need to always ask if we are about to finish or not... sometimes... i would just text him to pick me up when i am finish...

Hello Bebs. It usually depends on my side. If I happen to have enough time, I won't hurry, but have a good look around before buying what I need. I enjoy going to grocery together with my wife if it is my day off as I can help carry the food bought from the grocery shopping and some other shops.

I always near my grocery shopping at the superstore which is at walking distance from my home. When I go for grocery shopping, I am not always in hurry except when i am in a rush. I will compare the same product between various brand options and buy what i think is the most suitable. I will get irritated also if someone is rushing me while i am shopping as I like to take my own sweet time :)
