I wanted to know if it's okay to do some exercise if you got a period. Im confused coz one of my friend told me not to do anything or even lifting heavy things and do exercise during period because it's bad, and whn i asked her "Why" she never told me the exact reason for it. Anybody here know's about it? When you have a period do you do exercise and hard work? Thanks for sharing. Happy mylotting.

I think its not better to do excersizes when we are in periods. I think we do our regular works but not heavy works. If we do hard works and excersizes that time it will be painful to us. If you have pains in periods time it is not good to work very hard at that time then it will increase your pains. Happy myLotting.

Hmm...as far as i know i think its alright to excercise when you have it. My months have always been irregular ever since i had it but theyre pretty bipolar on me. Each month is different, some months i am just full of energy and i exercise more than i would on a normal day and some days it hurts so much i want to take off a month from work. Yes i do hard work on my periods anyway because i get embarrased easily, and especially if i say i cant do this im pmsing at work. xD good luck and that sounds like a good website. ;)

I guess it all depends on how heavy is your period, that determines what type of exercises u can do ^_^ For example, if u are having light period, normal exercises like lifting or cycling or even jogging, is not a problem.. But when u are having heavy flow, it's best to avoid jogging and lifting, because of the rising blood pressure in u, plus, the 2 exercises will trigger the flow of your period.. hehe

Go to about.com and punch in menstrual myths. This should answer all your questions.

We women need to exercise even during period because exercising helps in reducing the menstrual cramps. I''ve been walking daily for so long now and I don't suffer the very painful cramps, just the normal uncomfortable feeling on the first day. BAck in high school or college where I led a sedentary life style, no exercise or even walking, I suffer painful cramps. Just don't do heavy exercises.

i guess there are certain exercises that women can do during the period. i as a woman do not carry nor do anything from first to 3rd day of my period as my tummy hurts a lot and we suffer from dysmenorrhea. it's really painful.
