I dreamt of something that was actually happening!

I was waiting for a particular show on TV last night but I think I was too tired that I slept without turning off the TV. Yes, I was not able to watch the show I have been waiting for.
In my dream, I saw myself opening our main door and when I saw that it was raining hard, I picked up the umbrella near the door. Then I heard some noise coming from somewhere. Next thing I knew, I woke up from my deep slumber and realized that the TV was still on. I turned it off and as I did, I realized something else.... It was really raining. I do not really find it odd as this happened to me several times in the past already. Like there was also a time in the past that I dreamt about being sick and when I woke up, I was burning with fever.
Have you had the same experience?

Hi dolce_vita,
The only thing that has happened to me was, when I was dreaming of wanting to go the batherooom and I was looking for one, but each time I find one it was dirty and I try to find another and another but they were all dirty and then I wake up wanting to go to the batheroom.

I was definitely in deep slumber that time. In fact, the rain was just part of my actual dream.

Sound and scent permeate our dream state and insinuate themselves into the dream. It's not unusual. I've had dreams where well, the details of the dream are lost, but in the dream the phone was ringing and I kept wondering why someone didn't pick it up. I would finally wake up and realize the phone really was ringing. I've dreamed I was a kid again in the fall and my Dad was making sausage. He always seasoned it, then fried up a patty to taste and make sure it was right. When I woke up someone in the house was cooking breakfast. . .sausage and eggs.

I have experienced that before. But I think I wasn't dreaming when I am experiencing it. Like when one night I was sleeping, I was hearing something like a water pouring. I know I was hearing it too loud and that I can somehow see my surroundings. I suddenly woke up and it was actually raining hard. There was also a time that I fell asleep while my brother is still playing computer games. In my sleep I can still hear the keyboards tapping and I am hearing the sounds of the games.
I guess when it happens I am only half sleep and that my mind is still conscious of my surroundings and that it's actually not a dream. Well, its just my own opinion.

Hi dolce! Yes my dear I have done that several times! I
think it's kind of a deja vu'! It is like a half dream, but
not and yet it is real and it has happened before? I've
done that myself. Your sort of asleep, but not really and
you probably heard the rain in your subconcious but thought
you dreamed it! And the tv being on was just enough of a
distraction so that you weren't fully asleep! Ok, I'm not
Freud and I'm not a Psychologist, but I think I know what
you mean! I don't think you really were deeply asleep, but
I could be wrong! I have dreamed things and they have come
true. But, I do have a very strong and scary sixth sense.
And that is for another discussion!

This has happened to me many times. I deam things and they come true within 2 weeks of the dream. I also have waking visions of things to.

yeah. i have had a couple of premonition dreams before it actually happened. it felt a very deja vu.

it happens sometimes, i remember my grand mom use to tell me the person dreams the thing which he thinks and the things which have happened for the day. it happens to me most of the times, i just have a habbit that i think more and when i am going to bed and i am not getting sleep or just like that also i start thinking something about what had happend or what i need to do and all that and the same thing repeats in my dream and it is really very weired.

Its very difficult to get what you dream . If someone gets means he is very lucky and also he does hard work to achieve that. We feel very happy if we get what we dream of. But its not happen with everyone. There are many people who just dream and they are not able to fulfill it. and also luck is required which is very important...........

That happens to me quite often. I'll hear the rain in the background, someone flushing a toilet, the cat meowing, nose outside, the radio etc. and it'll somehow work its way into my dream.

Hello Dolce! Yeah, I had that experience in the past, in fact quite a few times. But the most significant dream of mine that came true was when someone broke my trust and I dreamt of such event so vividly and so real. I don't want to think of it anymore this time because it belongs to the past but it should be a dream to reckon with, have I known. Take care my friend.
